BreakThrough Bible Study Observe, Interpret, and Apply

It is time for Old Testament Story! I have taught this course in and18-hour format, and taught it in a minute using a napkin in a coffee shop. Any amount of time spent learning the story and flow of the OT is time well spent.
We will tell the story from Genesis to Nehemiah, inserting the poetry and prophecy books where they go chronologically. The result will be an understanding of God's purpose that you may have never seen!
Context is king - this whole project is developing context for the entirety of your Bible study! I can't wait to start, and am eager to see you all again! Bring a friend!
Join us on Thursday nights at 6:30 over Zoom!!! It will change your understanding of the Bible and your relationship with God!

I wish that you and I could sit down and have a cup of coffee. I think it would be so fun to sit across the table from you to hear your story and to tell you mine. We’d linger over our coffee and scones, giggle together, tear up together, and feel a part of one another’s lives as we opened our stories to one another. Second Corinthians Chapter One starting in verse 3 would be our agenda for the day: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God! Over coffee you and I would be able to take the comfort that God has given to each of us and give it to one another.
In those verses we see that the reason that we have comfort to give to each other is because we’ve gone through affliction or pressure along our paths. Being able to give my comfort to you makes me glad that I had the affliction!

Before Jesus was even gone the disciples wanted to know about what the end times would be like (Matt 24:3). Since then people have been asking the same questions - normally going to Revelation to find answers. But because the Word has a lot to say about end times before Revelation, our study will start in 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, move through the Word, and end on Revelation. I'd love to have you join us because it's going to be so much fun!

02/22/2019

Next Thursday is the beginning of He Comes to Be Glorified! We will be doing a topical study of the end times, beginning with 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. I'd love to have all of you join us as we focus on studying and working together to uncover the truths in scripture! It's going to be a blast! Bring your Bibles and post-it notes - 6:00 for dinner and study at the Bears!

I'm so excited about the study we've been doing - About the Bible. It's so important that we have a "head knowledge" about the accuracy of the Bible as well as a "faith knowledge." This course is head knowledge that will erase any doubts - from internal or external sources - that the Bible you have is exactly what God intended for you to have! We've talked about God the divine Author, the human authors chosen by God, the genre (type of literature chosen by God for each book) of the Old Testament, and how the story of the Old Testament impacts the individual books. This week we start on the genre of the New Testament!
I can't wait to see you all again after my 2 weeks off - you all are my favorites and I'm eager to gather around the Word again!

11/21/2018

I'd like to invite all of you to our next Thursday night series which starts on the 29th! It's called About the Bible and will answer questions about the reliability of the Bible! We'll talk about the original languages, how the copies have been transmitted throughout history, how the books included in the Bible were chosen and much more. I'm really excited about this course! Please join us and bring your questions! We eat at 6:00 and start the teaching at 6:40 - Thursday nights! My house!
