We were blessed to attend the Not Ashamed Conference, hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tuscola, IL. Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller taught three outstanding sessions on hearing and speaking God's commands and promises, and the offense that is built-in both for the hearers and the speakers. Thanks so much to Immanuel, Pastor Jason Braaten, the CID CEF, and Pastor Wolfmueller!

Students are back and we’re ready! Our first Sunday Bible Class and Chief Divine Service of the semester were full of the true Words of Christ. The singing was awesome!

And we had a great Quad Day. Our booth on the quad was full of our students all afternoon, and we had great conversations with a bunch of people.

Also, Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center of Champaign, which operates a clinic out of the UniLu building once a week, staffed a booth out front of UniLu and had a bunch of great conversations with students about the wonderful work of they do to help moms, babies, and families. Thanks be to God!

It has been a summer rich in fellowship. We thank God for times shared decorating for summer weddings, discussing books, reading Shakespeare, cooking kebabs, playing Cribbage, serving at conventions, and eating at Dos Reales! Still, we are very excited for everyone to move back onto campus this week! Godspeed to UniLu!

It's time to welcome (and welcome back) students! Nothing is more essential that the true teaching and preaching of God's Word and His Sacraments rightly administered. We have them at University Lutheran Church and Student Center. We love to sing, pray, receive, and meet Jesus, together!

What else did we do towards the end of the semester? Garrett composed an epic arrangement of “On Eagles’ Wings” for the choir; Josh gave organ tours; and we had an awesome Theology Stammtisch night by the fire (and Corey cooked in his dutch oven).
