Many families in our community are currently facing a severe food shortage. In response to this, CCC is focusing our support in five specific ways:
1. We have joined the CU Mutual Aid network. We are receiving specific requests for a variety of transportation and packaging needs.
2. We are supporting Feeding our Kids with a very specific food drive. These items are provided to students with specific dietary restrictions. Please see the list to purchase the specific items requested. Food can be dropped off by the fireplace at the church. In addition, there are bins outside of the church in the event the building is not open. We are also assisting with the delivery of the food to the local schools. The food drive will run through November 30.
3. We are encouraging you to volunteer at the Eastern Illinois Food Bank. They need volunteers on Tuesdays from 10-3. You sign up for one hour shifts.

4. In late November, we will be making a financial gift to Feeding Our Kids and the Eastern Illinois Food Bank. You're welcome to contribute by going to the church website. Please select "Community Impact" from the drop down menu and this will ensure your money is directed toward these two agencies.
5. On Sundays, during the month of November, we will have milk and eggs available for you to share with someone you know who may be in need. They will be available after each service just outside of the kitchen.
We know that there are folks in our congregation that are struggling to make ends meet at this time. Please reach out to Melissa to share the needs you might have. If you have any questions or want to talk about ways to support this work contact Melissa at [email protected] . Thank you for all your doing.
