Imaginal cells play a critical role in the transformative process of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly–including the soupy state in the middle of the process. Right now, it may feel like the transformative work in your life feels like this mushy goop, however, this is a crucial step to the process. Don’t be discouraged by the lengthy, perhaps bewildering way God works transformation. --Pastor Melissa in this week's blog:

"We can only grow if we can doubt that where we are at present is “all the truth there is” and continue to ask questions about what we might be missing. If we could not doubt, we would continue believing every lie, every half-truth, and every error we have ever believed—about God, Jesus, American History, Church History, Church Doctrine, Race, Gender, what it means to follow Jesus, etc. " - Ron Simkins encourages in this week's blog: https://ncf-cu.com/2026/05/12/i-hope-you-feel-free-to-question-doubt-good-questions-4/

Yesterday we hosted best-selling author Nico Lang, who read from their book American Teenager: How Trans Kids are Surviving Hate an Finding Joy in a Turbulent Era.

It was a fantastic, joy-filled event, from the humor and love Nico brought to the space and the heart-felt questions asked by the audience, to our fabulous MC Anna, who grew up at NCF and now lives in Chicago.

Special thanks to Good Judys Espresso & Bagel Bar for providing refreshments, and to the wonderful community organizations who brought resources, flags, and stickers to share: Gender and Sexuality Resource Center at UIUC, CUTES (Campus Union for Trans Equality and Support), ACLU, CU Reparations Coalition, and CU Reparations Coalition.
