Sede (chair) vacante (empty) when referring to the Holy Catholic Church is a condition in which the Chair of Peter is empty or vacant. This is true when a Pope has died or resigned.

How evil can the CMRI be? They use and abuse people. They throw away lives when they no longer serve their purposes. One of Kenneth's children was used as a pawn in their latest legal confrontation. The head of the CMRI convinced the young man to appear in court as an attempted intimidation ploy, as well as a prop to generate sympathy with the magistrate. He has used this person before in various attacks on Kenneth.

In another miscarriage of justice, Kenneth was denied his right to question his accuser. The magistrate denied his right to ask the questions pertinent to his defense. She determined they were not applicable to the only question on her mind. Kenneth knows the answers to the questions, he only wanted verification on the record from the head of the CMRI.
