Imagine being a Temple guard. That would be best understood as a city police officer. Perhaps you were among those who marched with the priests and Pharisees up to The Garden to arrest Jesus. You saw Peter snatched a sword and attack one of the men who you were with. But before you could apprehend him, this man you came to arrest, Jesus, picked up the ear of the victim and had fixed it. After the crucifixion, you were selected to guard the tomb. You hoped that hot headed Peter would try something. You were still miffed at him. A three-day assignment. Day one, you were ready. Eager on day two. But day three was the Sabbath. The day of rest. You didn't expect any trouble. You were just glad you were on the clock. You could use the extra money. But three days on duty has impacted your readiness. You had a lot on your mind. The next thing you know, you were waking up. You must have fallen asleep. Looking around, you realize you we not the only one. All the men in your guard was rousing. This had never happened before. But all was well if the tomb was undisturbed. You look at the sealing stone, and panick struck. It had been rolled away. Other soldiers stepped inside and quickly came out. When you entered, you saw what had changed their expressions. The tomb was empty. How would you handle this?

Good Friday luncheon and devotional. Dessert Auction. Thanks to the Adams family for the hard work. Thanks to all who pitched in to make this a wonderful event. Food was great. The fellowship was even better. And the devotional by Kinney Adams was a powerful reminder of the difference Jesus makes and the importance of the Resurrection.

It has been confirmed. John the Apostle has been scheduled for our Church April 5th, which just so happens to be Resurrection Day. Breakfast beginning at 9:45 AM and Easter services beginning at 11 AM.

There will be no food pantry this week. The supply delivery truck will not be delivering Friday, February 20th. We will be critically short of volunteers for a Saturday delivery. Our Supplier will also be closed the week of April 1st, but we have a work-around for that. They will deliver up a load of food on February 27th, which we will hold and distribute a week later, on March 6, which will get us back on schedule. If you need food before March 6th, or if you know someone who needs assistance, please call Pastor Tim.
