QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK

1st Reading

We hear how God proclaims His name as “Lord” to Moses on Mount Sinai, describing Himself as merciful, gracious, kind, and faithful. How would you describe your experience of God?

2nd Reading

Paul speaks of the grace, love, and fellowship of our triune God and encourages the Corinthians to treat each other likewise. Who needs your love and fellowship this week?

Gospel Reading

Jesus speaks of God’s love and commitment to both people and planet. What do you imagine a “saved” world will look like?

In your charitable mercy, please pray and fast for Fr. Daniel Gilbert's healthy recovery. Fr. Daniel is the Pastor of Gordon, Rushville, and Hay Springs to our east. This courageous and charitable Pastor has been hospitalized for three weeks now and has to remain for a while.

May the Divine Physician guide the hands of all involved in Father's care, granting Fr. Daniel strength, healing, and the grace to offer his suffering for the salvation of souls. May the Holy Spirit move the hearts of men in our Diocese to courageously discern their fatherly call.

The Church was born from the side of Jesus upon the Cross (CCC 766). Yet, like all infant life the Church was not prepared to live on its own. Thus, the baby Church stayed primarily in the upper room with Mary (Acts 1:14).
It was only after the Church reached "maturity" that she received the second outpouring of the Holy Spirit, giving her the Divine Charisma of handing on the True Faith. Just as in Baptism we receive a gift, so on the Cross Israel received the gift of being reborn. Yet, just as in Confirmation we are sent to go socially live that gift, so too the Church is finally sent out to preach Christ to all creation. If you are Confirmed, you have that special charisma. Be not afraid to preach Christ to the world! He is indeed with you, always (Mt.28:20).
