Join us in prayer for Kenya, where heavy rains and flooding have impacted more than 54,000 households and caused the deaths of more than 18 people over the past week.

This deadly flooding event is one of many that Kenyans have experienced since the beginning of March, with hundreds of lives lost and tens of thousands of people displaced from their homes so far.

In response, UMCOR has awarded two emergency solidarity grants to the Nairobi and Kisumu districts of the East Africa Episcopal Area - United Methodist Church to support their emergency response efforts.

Some have called Yu Gwan-sun the Korean “Joan of Arc” for her courageous role in the Korean independence movement. Yu was a Christian whose activism began while she was a student at a Methodist secondary school in Seoul and ended with her tragic death inside a Japanese prison.
