Following Christ | Loving People | Restoring Hope
In 2014, Bethel Church and Destiny Christian Center merged together to create Bethel Church - Downtown Centralia. It was a difficult decision for those who had invested in the ministry of the church in Centralia for generations. The combination of an old building that had more problems then almost anyone could have known, and a church congregation that was losing it’s long time lead Pastor, the move might have been the only thing that could have provided the boosted need to restore life to the little Downtown Centralia Church.
Renovations began in the summer of 2014 as work began on a new roof for the auditorium, then a new kids space, more roof projects, new plumbing, lots of paint, new electrical, and more remodeling of spaces that were once too damaged by leaks to be of use. With the completion of the new kids space a renovations, new families began to call Bethel Downtown home.
In 2015 Bethel Church’s campaign to pay of the all debt came to a miraculous conclusion as an offering was given of over $400,000 to retire the debt on both church buildings! This great gift has allowed Bethel to invest more into ministry in the community through ministries like the Hub City Mission and Community Dinners. In 2019, Bethel launched its forth Community Dinner in Centralia’s Lewis and Clark building, joining Community Dinner in Chehalis, Onalaska, and Buccoda.
We believe that Jesus has a great work for us to be a part of right here in Lewis County and are excited to express the love of Jesus to as many people as we can! We gather weekly at 10 a.m. to worship Jesus and be encouraged and equipped to live the mission he has called us to.
