Today April 23 is World Book Day. It's celebrated to recognize the importance of books and to encourage people to enjoy reading. While reading books is vital for any learner. I want to stress the superiority of the most important book, the Holy Bible. It has sold 5-7 billion copies since 2021 according to Guinness World Records. The Bible has been translated into hundreds of languages and is the most widely printed book in history. There are said to be around 40 authors with some unknown, 2 Timothy 3:16 states that "All scripture is God-breathed". This does not mean that the human authors were inspired, but that the Scripture itself was inspired. John MacArthur explains that the Holy Spirit used the words of godly men to produce the Scriptures. He compares the process to a sailing ship being carried along by the wind to reach its destination. In summary, God is the source or origin of what is recorded in Scripture. We have never lived in a time like today. With the power of cell phones, which most people have, we can find out information fairly quickly. Yet the effortlessness of using a smart phone to acquire info has made us lazy and ignorant. I implore you today to take some time to read your Bible, for inside contains the Words of Life. Namely, Jesus Christ, which is the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2), He is the way, the truth and the life, no one can come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6), and salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
God Bless and as Jesus invited two disciples in John 1:39, I invite you to open your Bible today to "come and see" for yourself.
