Each year, ECC sets specific financial goals and invites participation through prayer, monthly commitments, and one-time gifts. This week we are proud to be giving towards World Vision, which seeks to provide water to the 703 million people who lack basic drinking water access (about 1 out of every 11 people on the planet). Clean water access changes everything and is the foundation from which communities can lift themselves out of poverty. With clean water nearby, sickness and malnutrition are reduced, and once they are freed from the need to haul water, children can attend school, and women can pursue economic opportunities. Relax and recharge amidst the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season at the South Women’s Bar Cookie & Book Exchange, this Thursday at 6:30pm! There is no cost for this event, just bring bar cookies to exchange, a book wrapped in brown paper with only the genre written on the outside, and a snack to share. We can’t wait to celebrate together!

This week we are proud to be supporting the Garfield Elementary Support Fund, which assists low-income and homeless families in their community. As part of their continued mission to serve, Garfield would like to provide industrial washers and dryers to help meet this basic necessity. Garfield hopes to raise $3,000-4,000. In addition, students participate in a running program each year and this requires bark around the track to keep the weeds at bay. They hope to raise $1,000 for this project.
