Turning Back Toward Him

Devotional

Repentance gets a bad reputation. For many people, it conjures images of guilt, shame, and a long list of failures. But that is not what repentance actually is. Repentance is not a feeling. It is a direction. To repent means to turn. It means you were heading one way, you recognized it was the wrong way, and you chose to move toward what is right instead. That is not a moment of defeat. That is a moment of courage and clarity. And here is the most encouraging part: God is not standing at the end of that turn with a list of everything you did wrong. He is standing there ready to restore you. His forgiveness is not reluctant. It is immediate and complete when we come to Him with a sincere heart. The real challenge is not the moment of repentance. It is what comes after. It is choosing, day after day, to keep Jesus at the center rather than letting Him drift back to the edges of your life. Not just during a church service, but in your home, in your habits, and in the quiet moments no one else sees. You are not too far gone. You are never too far gone. Take the step today, and trust that He is already moving toward you.

Examine Before You Approach

Devotional

There is a kind of spiritual autopilot that many of us slip into without realizing it. We go through the motions, say the right things, show up in the right places, and somewhere along the way, we stop actually examining whether our hearts are aligned with what we are doing. Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 11 are a direct challenge to that kind of drift. He calls believers to examine themselves before approaching the Lord's table. Not to produce guilt, but to produce honesty. The question is not whether you are perfect. The question is whether you are paying attention. Self-examination is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself. It is pausing long enough to ask: Are my actions matching what I say I believe? Is there something in my life that I know is out of alignment, and am I willing to bring it before God? This kind of honesty is not meant to discourage you. It is meant to free you. When we stop pretending and start being real with God, we open the door for genuine restoration. He already knows what is there. He is simply waiting for us to acknowledge it so He can begin the work of healing. You are safe to be honest with Him today.

A Vow Worth Keeping

A child dedication is one of the most meaningful moments a family can experience in a church. But it is easy to let the sweetness of the moment overshadow the weight of what is actually being said. When parents bring a child forward, they are not simply presenting a baby to a congregation. They are making a vow before God. They are saying, "This child belongs to You. You have entrusted them to us for a season, and we commit to raising them in Your truth." That is not a small thing. That is a sacred responsibility. And here is what makes it even more personal: it is not only a dedication of the child. It is a dedication of the parent. It is a moment where a mother or Father stands before God and says, "Here I am too. Use me to shape this life You have placed in my hands." You do not have to be a parent to feel the weight of this. Every one of us has been entrusted with something, a relationship, an influence, a platform, a family. The question is whether we are treating that trust as a vow or just a role. God is not looking for perfect stewards. He is looking for willing ones. Show up willing today.

Everyday Faith, Not Just Sunday Faith

Faith was never meant to be a once-a-week event. It is easy to show up on Sunday, sing the songs, and feel genuinely moved. But Monday has a way of testing what Sunday produced. God's design for faith has always been woven into the fabric of daily life. He did not call us to compartmentalize Him into a church service and then carry on with everything else unchanged. He called us to something far more integrated and far more beautiful than that. This is especially true for parents. Every conversation at the dinner table, every car ride, every bedtime routine is an opportunity to point your children toward God. Not with a formal lesson, but with a life that is visibly shaped by His truth. Children are watching more than they are listening, and they will remember what they saw far longer than what they were told. The good news is that you do not have to be a perfect parent or a perfect person to do this well. You just have to be consistent and honest. Let your kids see you pray. Let them hear you talk about God like He is real and present, because He is. Everyday faith is not complicated. It is just faithful, one ordinary moment at a time.

Here is the truth: if we can only sense God's presence when something is happening around us, we may have confused the experience of worship with worship itself. God is not found only in the noise. He is just as present in the stillness, and often, that is exactly where He does His deepest work. Learning to sit with God in the quiet is not a passive thing. It is an act of faith. It is choosing to believe He is there even when we do not feel a rush of emotion. It is training our hearts to seek Him, not just the feeling He sometimes brings. Called for Such a Time as This

Esther did not ask to be placed in a palace during a crisis. She did not feel ready. She was afraid. But when the moment came, she made a decision that changed everything. She said, if I perish, I perish. And she stepped forward anyway. That kind of courage is not the absence of fear. It is the decision that obedience to God matters more than personal safety or comfort. And God honored it. You are not here by accident. You are here by divine appointment. The city you live in, the people around you, the moment in history you are living through, all of it is intentional. God has placed you exactly where He needs a light to shine. You do not have to be famous or powerful or have everything figured out. Jesus changed the world with a small group of people who simply believed, walked in truth, and refused to back down. He can do the same through you. This is your moment. Not to be perfect, but to be present. Not to have all the answers, but to be faithful. God is calling His people to rise, to be set apart, and to show a watching world what it looks like to truly follow Jesus. You were made for this.
