Question:
How many people have you touched this year?
I'm not talking about a physical touch.
I'm talking about making a difference in that person's day or even their life.
I'm talking about You - personally.
Not through a group of people or an organization. This is where you Hope it goes to help someONE.
I'm talking about you helping a person one-on-one.
I'm talking about buying a homeless person lunch at McDonald's.
I'm talking about looking a stranger in the eyes and smiling.
I'm talking about saying hello to someone.
I'm talking about helping someone up if they have fallen, literally.
I'm talking about buying someone's lunch at a restaurant before you ask how much their meal is.
How often do we see someone in need of something and look the other way "not wanting to get involved".
December 31st is not far away.
What can you do for that stranger?
What should you do for that stranger?
What will you do for that stranger?
I'm not bringing this up because the holiday season is here.
To be quite honest with you, I did something the other day that normally I would just walk away from the situation.
A worker at a rest area asked me for a biscuit the other day. I told him I didn't have a biscuit and walked away. As I got to the car, it dawned on me that I didn't have a biscuit, but I did have some peanut butter and cracker packs. I took two of them, went and found the man, handed him the crackers. He thanked me. I looked him in the eyes and smiled. Immediately, the scripture came to mind about (to paraphrase) when you fed a stranger, you fed me. I smiled and said Thank You.
Don't do the deed because you Should do it.
Do the deed because you Want to do it.

Hello everyone,

Our next United Women in Faith meeting will be Sunday, March 26 at 3:00 PM in the fellowship hall at CUMC. Debbie Beard has the Response moment, Janet Pierce has the program and I'll have refreshments.

Be sure to bring your Call to Prayer and Self Denial donations. We have each been asked to give up something or add something during this month and give the value of whatever you are doing to the special offering for Call to Prayer and Self Denial. For example, you might give up a daily soda and give the value of that to the offering. Or, you might add something like daily reading of the words of Jesus (Bro. Niles' challenge). On the days you read, give an amount to the offering. If you don't meet your daily challenge, maybe you double the amount. Our program will include our individual reports on what we did.

Remember...we are coordinating the drive to collect toilet tissue for Women are Safe. Please bring your donations to CUMC (box in the vestibule) or SBUMC by the end of March.

Hello Everyone,

As you probably know, we had planned to put together the UMCOR shoe boxes at our August 28 meeting. In order to meet the deadline for having the boxes at the UMCOR depot, we need to move our meeting date to August 21. So, please mark your calendar and plan to be with us on August 21.

A reminder...we are not meeting in July.
