Dear Friends,

The most common admonition in the whole bible is “Do not be afraid. Fear not.” It is the most common message of angels in the Old Testament. In the New Testament reading this weekend, Jesus says, “Fear no one. …be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body,” (Matthew 10:26-33).

We live with a lot of anxiety these days. We wonder who we can trust and what we can believe. We live in a time when children are exposed to more lies and deceit than any other time in history. Who is going to help them discern what is right and wrong?

A father is the biggest influencer in their children’s discernment when it comes to values, morality and faith according to scientific studies I’ve read.

I am so grateful for the fathers we have in our parish. Thank you for bringing your children to Mass and for volunteering in our Faith Formation program and other ministries. Thank you for being a good influence in our world.

One of the beautiful things about a parish community is that no one grieves alone.

At St. Genevieve’s, our Funeral Ministry helps families navigate loss with compassion, reverence, and practical support - from the funeral Mass itself to hospitality, music, livestreaming, and gatherings afterward.

For many families, especially those less connected to church life, these moments become a powerful reminder of what community can look like during difficult seasons.

Because no one should walk through loss alone.

Dear Friends,

This is a challenging Gospel if you really think about it. Here is Jesus, the Son of God, the Savior of the World and He needs help! He invites people to help him. Jesus calls ordinary, even sinful, people to help him: Simon Peter and Judas from Iscariot.

God continues to choose people to bring about the salvation of the world and Jesus needs help. If you have been baptized, you have been chosen. God wants to give you a calling and a challenge. The world is to be evangelized and saved with all of us helping.

Pay attention to the end of the Mass. I say, “Go in peace and go and serve the Lord!” How much can Jesus count on you to do your part?
