The Bible does teach us to confess our sins rather than hide or excuse them.

1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

James 5:16: “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.”

Proverbs 28:13: “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”

Confession isn’t about condemning yourself or proving that you’re a bad person. It’s about bringing what you did into the light, taking responsibility, turning away from it, and receiving God’s forgiveness.

And repentance doesn’t mean you will never struggle again—it means you’re choosing honesty with God and allowing Him to change your heart and your actions.
