Parents & Students!

We have several scholarships available.

Barbara N. Bates Memorial Education Scholarships at Shipp’s Bend UMC are given in memory of Barbara N. Bates, who was a member there and was an elementary school teacher. Her family supports these scholarship awards, which are given to high school graduates and may be renewed for rising scholars.

The Heritage Scholarship Fund at Centerville UMC was established in 2008 and is awarded to high school graduates and college students from the Centerville church. This scholarship honors those who have been members and is funded by proceeds from the church’s annual Ice Cream and Bingo Bash, as well as individual gifts. As many as four Heritage scholarships, each $500, will be awarded this spring.

The Bates Law Scholarship at Centerville UMC was established in 2020 in honor of Douglas Bates III and Douglas Bates IV. It is awarded to high school graduates and college students pursuing a career in law or criminal justice.

The Mays Medicinal Scholarship at Centerville UMC was established in 2020 in honor of Melvin & Linda Mays. It is awarded to high school graduates and college students pursuing a career in medicine or other medical training.

The church offices will be closed tomorrow in observance of Good Friday. Tonight, we will have a Holy Thursday service at 6:30pm. Tomorrow evening, a Good Friday service will be held at Little Lot UMC at 7pm. Sunday morning, Sunrise Service at Shipps Bend UMC at 6:30am.
