Sunday Recap

Pastor King preached a thought-provoking message titled “Divine Sovereignty & Human Responsibility.”

We were reminded that while God’s grace is freely given, He will not circumvent human responsibility. Salvation is a gift we could never earn, but our response to that gift matters.

Abraham wasn’t trying to earn God’s favor when he offered Isaac…he was simply walking in obedience. In the same way, our works are not an attempt to be saved; they are our response to salvation.

We often resist conviction or ignore it, but conviction is God’s invitation to cooperate with Him. When we trust His way above our own and respond in obedience, we find the rest, peace, and purpose He desires for us.

A powerful reminder from the message:
“I’m not trying to earn something from God because I’ll never be good enough… I’m simply trying to cooperate with Him.”

God’s ways are higher than our ways, and withholding what He requires is often a sign that we’re struggling to trust Him fully.

Let’s not just believe with our words, let’s believe with our lives.

Sunday Recap - Pastor King preached a powerful message titled “But We See Jesus.”

So often we become focused on what’s not working, the storms around us, the valleys we walk through, or the prayers that seem unanswered. But the problem isn’t always what we don’t see…it’s what we’re looking at.

Peter walked on water as long as his focus stayed on Jesus. The moment he shifted his eyes to the waves and the storm, he began to sink.

Sometimes we’re staring at the Red Sea, the wilderness, the stone in front of the tomb, or the problems surrounding us… when all along we should be looking at Jesus.

When everything feels unclear, Jesus is still clear.

The enemy wants you discouraged and focused on everything going wrong, but Jesus can still speak to dead situations and bring them back to life.

We were reminded not to spend our lives looking at the valley, our past, or even at each other. Instead, look toward the mercy of God and keep your eyes fixed on Him.

“I don’t need a miracle as much as I need more of Him.”

When you see Jesus, it reframes everything else.

So hang on a little longer. Don’t quit before the full work is done. God’s timing is different from ours, but He is still faithful.

Lesson One: Eden — A Place of Fellowship

Pastor King opened our new Wednesday series by taking us back to Eden not simply as a beautiful garden, but as a place of fellowship and communion with God.

From the very beginning, God’s desire was relationship with humanity. Eden revealed His original design: unbroken fellowship, identity, peace, and order in His presence.

Before the fall, there was harmony between:
• God and man
• Man and himself
• Man and woman
• Humanity and creation

One of the most powerful reminders from the lesson was this: Our identity is not found in ourselves, but in who God is.

Sin introduced fear, shame, distance, and hiding. But what Adam lost in Eden, Jesus restored through redemption.

From Eden to Revelation, the Bible tells one beautiful story: God restoring fellowship with humanity.

We’re excited for what’s ahead in this series. Join us Wednesdays at 7pm as we continue exploring these Cross-Connected Themes!
