An update from Pastor Teri and the Lutheran Campus Ministry in Logan, Utah!
It was a busy February for LCM at Utah State. Celebrated LCM Sunday Feb 10th with students putting on the service and 3 sharing the sermon. Our LCM President, Sarah Bogen, also became a member of Prince of Peace that Sunday.
Then we went on our own President's Day weekend retreat (too far to travel to Rainbow Trail from Logan) to a very snowy place southeast of Heber City, UT. We invited students from First Presbyterian in Logan, as well. Other than digging out cars from all the snow (needed 4WD) a good time was had by all! They seemed to appreciate the 'luxury' cabin (heated floors and toilet seats, games galore, "Alexa" piped throughout for music . . .), Matins, Compline, Faith Inventory, sledding, snowshoeing, visiting the Ice Castle in Midway . . .
This was followed by an advertised program sponsored by LCM on this 85% LDS campus, about Ashes, Lent, and Liturgy, on Feb 26th. Besides Prince of Peace students, about 30 students came; most knew nothing about the topic or that a church calendar existed. They do know about Martin Luther and the Reformation (in their LDS Institute classes for LDS in high school and college).
With this momentum, we hope to have a good turnout at our monthly planning/fellowship dinner this Sunday!
