Soldier of Christ Jesus,
Good morning Brothers. It is now 6:48am mountain time. When I awoke I felt the Lord wanted me to glean directly from Him what I should write today. Obviously our country and for that matter the world is waiting to hear the results of the election. I watched a movie last night with my wife, but after that I quickly turned to the news channel to see the latest results. So at about 11:30pm or so it showed Biden at about 230 electoral votes to Trumps 211 give or take. So as I stated above I believe the Lord wanted me to completely ignore any news about anything, not knowing anything about the results and to write what I believe He would have me write. Hard to do in this day and age but I am doing it. So I have no idea what the results are now.
Last week I spoke about the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit and praying in alignment with what the Lord is interceding for. I also talked about the importance of staying away from worldly or fleshly arguments that brings division among people. Our battle is not against people but against the enemies in the spiritual realm. I know I have also talked about the importance of standing up as a man or woman of God and strongly proclaiming this wonderful and amazing God we serve. Yeshua the Messiah, Adonai, Elohim, Abba Father. The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. We need to stand boldly knowing for sure who we serve, and to make that known no matter what. As we stand boldly our love for mankind should completely reflect just how Jesus would have loved no matter the circumstance. With that said I want to share a great section of scripture that I think the Lord brought to mind in 2 Timothy 2:1-19 NIV.
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.
8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word (logos - basically the message spoken from the Lord Jesus Christ) is not chained. 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
11 Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him.
If we disown him, he will also disown us;
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word (logos - same as above) of truth. 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. 17 Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” (Greek word for wickedness is adikia, which means - injustice, of a judge, unrighteousness of heart and life, a deed violating law and justice, act of unrighteousness)
My Brothers. As good soldiers of Christ Jesus we have been declared righteous and we should walk as righteous men of God and not let worldly affairs entangle us or distract us. Basically righteousness means to stand before our Lord without guilt, shame or condemnation and Jesus has given this to us. Lets walk in that truth no matter what happens in our life, so that the Love of God is displayed in all we do. As it says above in one of our theme verses at 1 Timothy 1:5.
The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
Brothers I am greatly looking forward to tomorrow to see what the Lord has in store for us, whether in person or on Zoom. I thank God for all of you and have immense hope that the Lord will continue to do mighty and Godly things through all of you as we believe in His Great and Precious Son Christ Jesus. All Glory and Honor be to our Lord Jesus Christ!
