When we know that someone we care about is struggling with their mental health, it's important that we lean in and have a conversation so that we can appropriately respond and rally the support our loved one needs. This training will provide an overview of how to recognize the difference between a mental health crisis, a mental health challenge, and a common experience. We will learn how to respond with a five-step action plan that will lead us into a conversation and onto the next steps. Finally, we will practice our skills in the context of your work with the camp and ministry.

Kids and teens today are facing anxiety, pressure, loneliness, and emotional challenges at increasing rates. For adults serving in churches, camps, and families, it can be hard to know how to respond when a young person is struggling.

Join Suzanne Eitzen, certified Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor, for a practical and encouraging webinar designed for camp counselors, youth volunteers, ministry leaders, and parents. Suzanne is passionate about equipping adults to respond with compassion, confidence, and care during moments of emotional or mental health crisis.

Participants will learn how to recognize warning signs, respond supportively, listen without judgment, and help connect youth with appropriate support.

You don’t need to be a mental health professional to make a difference — sometimes a caring, prepared adult can change everything.

💡 What is your church doing to serve your community?

Across the Rocky Mountain region, ABCRM churches are finding creative ways to share the love of Christ through food pantries, community meals, youth programs, school partnerships, neighborhood outreach, support groups, health fairs, and countless other ministries.

We'd love to hear your story.

Share a photo or tell us about it in the comments. Your ministry may inspire another church to try something new.

Are you looking to start a new community-based outreach effort? Pueblo Community Service Grants are available for up to $5,000 in funding to support new ministries and outreach initiatives that serve your community. Applications close June 30th.
