👑 Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary | August 22

Eight days after celebrating her Assumption into Heaven, the Church honors Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Mary’s queenship flows from her unique role as the Mother of Jesus Christ, our King. Her life reminds us that true greatness is found not in earthly power, but in humility, faithfulness, and loving service to God.

May our Blessed Mother continue to lead us closer to her Son and intercede for us as we seek to follow Him.

🙏 Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today, the Church celebrates the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, joyfully proclaiming that Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.

As the Mother of Jesus and the first disciple, Mary's life was one of unwavering faith, humility, and complete trust in God's plan. Her Assumption is a sign of the hope promised to all who remain faithful to Christ and a reminder that our true home is with God.

On this great feast, let us honor Our Blessed Mother by following her example of joyful obedience, steadfast faith, and loving service.

✝️ Memorial of St. John Vianney, Priest

Known as the Curé of Ars, St. John Vianney devoted his life to bringing people closer to Christ through humble service, prayer, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Born in France in 1786, his path to the priesthood was not an easy one. Yet his deep faith and virtue carried him forward. When he was assigned to the small parish of Ars, he transformed the community through his tireless pastoral care, simple preaching, and extraordinary dedication to hearing confessions.

People eventually traveled great distances to seek his spiritual guidance and receive the sacrament of God’s mercy.

Today, St. John Vianney is honored as the patron saint of parish priests, reminding us of the tremendous gift of faithful priests who dedicate their lives to serving Christ and His Church.

On his memorial, we pray especially for our priests and for an increase in holy vocations to the priesthood.

✝️ Memorial of St. Ignatius of Loyola

A soldier whose life was changed by a serious battle injury, St. Ignatius of Loyola discovered a new mission: to serve Christ with the same passion and determination he once gave to worldly ambitions.

During his long recovery, Ignatius read about the life of Christ and the saints. What began as a time of physical healing became a profound spiritual conversion that transformed the direction of his life.

He later founded the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and developed the Spiritual Exercises, which continue to guide Christians in prayer, discernment, and seeking God’s will.

His life reminds us that even when our plans unexpectedly change, God may be opening the way to a new purpose and a deeper calling.

✝️ Memorial of Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus | July 29

Today we remember Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, siblings and beloved friends of Jesus.

Martha reminds us to serve Christ faithfully, Mary shows us the importance of listening at the feet of Jesus, and Lazarus reminds us of Christ’s power over death and the promise of new life.

Together, their friendship with Jesus invites us to welcome Christ into our homes and hearts through service, prayer, and faith.

Feast of St. James, Apostle | July 25 ✝️

Today we celebrate St. James the Apostle, brother of St. John and one of the “Sons of Thunder.” Along with Peter and John, James witnessed the Transfiguration of Jesus and shared closely in Christ’s ministry.

When James sought a place beside Jesus in His Kingdom, Christ asked if he could “drink the cup” that He would drink. St. James ultimately gave his life for the faith, becoming the first of the Apostles to be martyred.

May his courage and faithful witness inspire us to follow Christ with humility and serve others with love.

St. James the Apostle, pray for us! 🙏
