If you’re paying at the event, cash is preferred, but we will have our Square reader, which adds a 3% fee.

What to Bring
Water (or drink), walking shoes, sunglasses and an umbrella to stay out of the sun or in the case of light rain. If the rain is moderate we will cancel the tour and reschedule.

Polk Cemetery Preservation needs your HELP. Do you know where this cemetery is located? Pollard Cemetery. Only directions we have are. This cemetery is about 1/4 mile from Mr. J.M. Vines home toward Hwy 100. It is located in a clearing in the woods. There are about 50 graves in it. These are the stones that was found. [Survey by Ralph and Jane Ayers - Summer 1979.] (NEED BETTER DIRECTIONS)

Sunday at 4pm. PCHS invites everyone to join us at the Historic Site of the Cherokee Encampment off of Furnace Street where we will present our Memorial Service of the Cherokee Removal of 1838. Our short service will be graced by the attendance of our local resident Native American Indian, Mr. Dan "Lone Wolf" and the Polk Gathering's Letter of Sincere Regret will be read at this time.
