🙏Prayer for Labor Day:
Gracious Father in heaven,
We thank you on this Labor Day for the gift of work and rest. You created us to serve one another through the many callings of life—at home, in the community, and in the church. Thank you for all the ways you provide for us through the labor of others—through farmers, builders, teachers, health workers, and countless more.
Bless those who are still working, that they may do their tasks with joy and integrity. Bless those who are retired, that they may continue to serve you in love and prayer and kindness. Be with those who can no longer work because of weakness of body and remind them that their value is not in what they can do but in what Christ has already done for them.
Above all, we praise you for Jesus Christ, who finished the work of our salvation and now gives us eternal rest in him. Keep us faithful in our callings until the day when you call us from our labor to your heavenly rest.
