Weekly Reflections - Week 26

This is our last Reflection ladies and what a journey it has been. We have asked ourselves about our relationship with Jesus, our relationship with ourselves, what Jesus is calling us to, and how we move forward in serving his people. I know that I have been challenged many times on this journey, sometimes in preparing a reflection and sometimes in believing it for myself. Jesus is calling me to much deeper places and I know that I need to be willing to let go of my insecurities and trust Him with my whole heart. I have been so blessed to connect with you through these messages so I hope that you have enjoyed them. I pray that you will continue to dig into God's truth about who you are and the purpose that God has laid on your life and that you will have the courage to step out in faith and know that you have the strength of your Heavenly Father to carry you through whatever He might call you to.

If you remember at the beginning of this journey I asked you to take a picture of yourself and put it in the front of your journal. I'd like to ask you to take another picture of yourself and as you do I want you to be thinking "I am a child of the King, I am loved, and I am beautiful"... really let that sink in!! Now, print that photo, put it in a frame, and place it somewhere that you can be reminded of this truth every day. You ARE loved, you ARE beautiful, and you ARE a child of the King!! This is the voice of Truth!

Prayer for you today: Holy Spirit, we love you SO much and are so grateful for the quiet moments that we have spent with you over the last several weeks. Lord, help us to hear you when you are calling us to these quiet times, to let go of the tasks that beg for urgency, because we know that the things of this world are temporary but you are eternal. Help us to choose what is better as Mary did. Thank you for your grace when we fail and for your unconditional love at all times. Thank you for trusting me to share your love with the hearts of these women. Amen.

PS. We would love to know if you enjoyed these Weekly Reflections and hear any of your stories of how Jesus met you during any of you quiet times, so if you would, share a comment on Facebook, send us an email, or just catch up with one of our Women's Ministry leaders and share your stories. We have been blessed and want to hear how you may have been blessed too. Thank you for participating!!

Weekly Reflections - Week 25

As we near the end of our Weekly Reflections it's a good time to look back at the journey we have had to see how far we have come in learning who we are. It is my hope that you have grown through this journey and that you have come to a place where you feel loved and beautiful, and filled with a purpose. We will always have days where doubt may creep in but we know where we need to turn to find truth. God's word never fails to speak truth into our lives about how much we are loved, how much we are forgiven, and how much he wants us to reflect Jesus to the world. We need to know Jesus so we can be Jesus! So let's reflect this week on what plans God may have for you in the coming months. Where is he leading you to serve, or to love, or to dig deeper into His word? How can you be Jesus to someone in your life? Take some time to just sit with Jesus, ask him where he wants to lead you and then spend some serious time just listening. It's easy enough to say a quick prayer and move on but it's a whole other thing to wait upon the Lord. Seek his voice this week.

Prayer for you today: Holy Spirit, I am so blessed to have listened to your leading in preparing these weekly reflections and to share your heart with these women. I ask that you stir in us a heart to step in and the courage to move for you. Bring awareness to us of those around us that need to know you and help us to serve them well. Thank you, Lord, for your grace and unfailing love. Amen.

Weekly Reflections - Week 24

Ladies, we have come so far in the 23 weeks we have been reflecting on who we are in Christ. It has been quite a journey and to be honest, it has challenged me in many ways. With so many things going on in our world some days it has been difficult to see Jesus and even more difficult to BE Jesus. But when I can reflect on Him I can find hope for tomorrow. So now, with Spring's arrival I get a sense of renewal and new life. I LOVE Spring. The days are getting longer, the sun is shining and we emerge from our winter dens ready to breathe in fresh air and be IN the world again. But there are people in our lives that are still in hiding; people living in fear and without hope, people who need to see Jesus in us. With all that we have learned, what would it look like to BE JESUS and reflect His love out to those around us? Go and be that light for someone who is lonely and hurting.

Prayer for you today: Holy Spirit, THANK YOU for Spring and for bringing fresh life back to us. Thank you for all of these weeks of just sitting with you and reflecting on who you have made us to be so that we can move forward with confidence and reflect your love to the world around us. Help us to see the needs around us and to be bold enough to step into the spaces you call us to to love others. Give us new places to shine your light. Amen.

Weekly Reflections - Week 23

During these many weeks that we have been reflecting on seeing ourselves more clearly, the goal has been to truly see ourselves through the eyes of God, to have confidence in knowing that truth so that we can take our focus off of our insecurities, filling our emptiness with worldly things and move to a place where we are filled with the Holy Spirit, content in who we are and abundantly overflowing with joy in the Lord. When we truly know the love of God for us and we can love God completely in return and we are confident in WHO we are, then we are completely filled. In that place, our lives can overflow with the fruit of the Spirit and we can more clearly reflect the love of God for others to see. As we work toward spending more time in God's word, we are able to find that place of peace and joy and our lives will more likely overflow with thankfulness and love and not with grumbling and dissatisfaction. What is your life overflowing with today?

Prayer for you today: Holy Spirit, forgive us for our selfishness and for seeking out worldly things to satisfy our discontentment. Help us to say yes when we sense you calling us to you and to leave our insecurities at your feet so that we may know your abundant grace and love and be a witness for others to come to know you. Thank you Lord, for loving us unconditionally and for the sacrifices you have made so that we can have fellowship with you. Amen.

Weekly Reflections - Week 22

I am so sorry that I missed last week's reflection... time got away from me. But I really don't want you to miss out on this reflection so here we go.

Our culture has become so crazy busy that we spend most of our days just moving from task to task. We used to use day planners, now we have apps on our phones that keep track of our schedules and remind us when to do almost everything. We can even ask "Alexa" to add stuff to our calendars and shopping lists. We get so caught up in all of the daily "To-Do's" that we miss out on the importance of quiet time with Jesus. I am SO guilty of this. This world tells me that I am what I do, but Jesus tells me I am WHO I am. The best way for me to know WHO I am is to sit in the presence of the One who created me, breathing in His word, and be reminded that I AM a child of the King. We spend way too much time living a "Martha" life when Jesus is calling us to choose what is better..... to be more like Mary!

Prayer for you today: Holy Spirit, Life is crazy busy and there is so much that we as women feel we need to keep up with. Help us to learn to say "NO" when no is necessary so that we can rest fully in You. Help each of these women see themselves through your eyes and to let go of the idea that how much they accomplish makes them better somehow. You loved us first and you love us just because. Nothing we can do will make you love us more. I pray that these women hear you calling them to just curl up in your lap, rest in your protection, breathe in your truth and just feel LOVED! Amen.
