This Past Sunday at Peoples Church ⛪️ UU we held our annual Flower 🌺 Ceremony!
The UU Flower Ceremony is a ritual we celebrate every year to remind us all of the power of beauty, human diversity and community.
Peoples People brought flowers 💐 to exchange with other congregants. All the flowers were placed together in the front before service and after being blessed they were exchanged so that everyone got a different flower than they brought. We also took time to give thanks and gifts to all the volunteers that help Peoples Church ⛪️ After worship the Annual Meeting was held as well. As we move through the week let us take time to think about the power of the flower In our lives.

The Annual Flower Ceremony has a powerful history. For more than a century this UU ritual has celebrated beauty, diversity, and community. To today’s service, please bring a cut flower to give away to a fellow congregant if you can-and if you can’t, don’t worry: there will be enough to go around.

Following the service, the Board will convene
PCUU’s Annual Congregational Meeting to officially change the bylaws and elect lay leaders. The Annual Meeting will take place both in the sanctuary and on Zoom. All book-signed members in good standing are eligible to vote.

Service Led By: Rev. Carin Bringelson

Special Music: Rishi Wagle

At a time when so many people face uncertainty about their rights, safety, and future, Unitarian Universalists are called to live our values boldly—and to strengthen the communities that make courage, care, and collective action possible.

This is at the core of the UUA’s work: to hold the heart of the faith so that congregations and communities can hold the line for dignity, justice, and love in a time of deep challenge. That means supporting congregations with the leadership, resources, training, and connections they need to care for their communities, organize for justice, nurture belonging, and respond faithfully in difficult times.

Right now, there is a special opportunity to make a deeper impact on that work. All gifts to the UUA will be triple matched through May 31, up to $150,000. That means every gift can have 3X the impact in supporting congregations, UU the Vote, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, climate justice, leadership development, and more.

If you’re able, now is a powerful time to give. You can make your contribution at the link in the comments 💛.

In a recent UU World reflection on meeting this moment, Gretchen Maune reminds us that love is expressed through accessibility, care, and the ways we make room for one another.

At a time when many disabled people and other vulnerable communities are facing fear, isolation, and economic hardship, Gretchen calls Unitarian Universalists beyond “business as usual” and toward deeper solidarity.

To truly put love at the center, says Rachel, our congregations and communities must become places of radical welcome, where people are fully valued and included.
