Parent Letter: Culture Shock Series
Dear Parents,
I hope this note finds you well! I wanted to personally let you know about an important and timely series we’re starting with our middle and high school students called “Culture Shock: God, Culture & Controversial Questions.”
In a world full of loud opinions, shifting beliefs, and tough cultural issues, our students are asking real questions—and they deserve honest, biblical answers. Over the next six weeks, we’ll be guiding them through what the Bible says about some of the most pressing topics they face today.
Our goal is not to push politics or personal opinions, but to help students:
- Think biblically about the culture around them
- Respond with truth and compassion
- Grow in confidence in their faith
Here’s a snapshot of what we’ll be covering each week:
1. Truth in a World of Opinions – Is there such a thing as absolute truth? 7/18
2. What Does God Say About LGBTQ+? – What does the Bible say about gender and sexuality? 7/25
3. Is Abortion Wrong? – How should Christians view life and choice? 8/1
4. Cancel Culture vs. Forgiveness Culture – Should we cancel people for their mistakes? 8/8
5. What About Racism & Justice? – What does the Bible say about injustice and equality? 8/15
6. Is Christianity Too Exclusive? – Is it unfair that Jesus is the only way? 8/22
We know these are complex and sometimes sensitive subjects. That’s why each week is designed to balance biblical truth with grace, and create a space for students to ask questions, wrestle with ideas, and grow in their understanding of God’s heart.
If you have any questions about the series or would like to see the content, I’d be more than happy to share it with you. We’d also love for you to continue the conversation at home—we’ll be sending home some reflection tools and questions to help!
Thank you for trusting us with your students. We’re excited to see how God will work through this series to grow their faith and character.
