What are you actually for?

Not what you’re against. Not the list of everything wrong.
What’s your hope? Where’s your conviction?

Because a resurrected Jesus is sufficient to change everything. Your neighborhood. Your workplace. Your city.

We just launched a new series called “Designed to Give”—and it’s not about money. It’s about God calling you to give your whole self to change the world around you. Your Tuesdays matter. Your Thursday nights matter. Your ordinary life has extraordinary purpose.

Join us as we explore what it really means to be designed by God to impact the world—one conversation, one relationship, one decision at a time.

Every follower of Jesus will face a moment that feels bigger than they can handle — a moment that feels intimidating, inconvenient, or risky.
That moment isn’t random. It’s the invitation.

God saves you from the way the world is, grows you through the people around you, and then sends you back into the world to help change it.

And when you cross that threshold — when you step into the thing that scares you — you don’t find your own strength… you find His presence.

Watch the full message from Pastor Tim to hear how faith meets tension, and how God still changes the world through ordinary courage.

We still think we can fix ourselves — if we just say it better, word it better, build it stronger.
But the truth? Only Jesus makes us right. The gospel is still better.

When the people of God live differently — with honesty, kindness, and compassion — the world notices. That’s how the gospel shines.

It’s possible to know the Word but miss the Lord. We can memorize verses, attend church faithfully, and still make decisions about Jesus without actually inviting Him into our lives.

True transformation happens when His Word moves from our heads into our hearts.

We kicked off The Lifelong Pursuit with a hard truth: you can’t trust your mind as much as you think.

Our culture tells us that if it feels authentic, it must be accurate. But both Scripture and science say otherwise. Your mind is constantly shaped by the inputs you give it — the news you scroll, the voices you listen to, the thoughts you rehearse.

Romans 12:2 calls us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” That’s the invitation. Fill your mind with God’s Word, not just noise. Let His truth rewire your thoughts so you can clearly recognize His will and walk in it.

This week, we’re choosing the lifelong pursuit of planting God’s Word deep — because when you do, you won’t just survive the chaos of culture… you’ll live with clarity, peace, and purpose.

Hope in the aftermath...

This past weekend, nearly 200 people from HCBC stepped up to serve those devastated by the recent Hill Country floods—showing up with gloves, tools, and compassionate hearts. And through your generosity, $140,000 has already been given to bring relief and restore hope.

But the work isn’t over.

We’re sending more clean-up teams THIS SATURDAY, July 19 — and we need you! Let’s continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our neighbors in need. Sign up today at hcbc.com/disaster-relief.

Thank you for being a church that loves big.
