"Come for all is now ready!" As I sat on my front patio to see the sun come up over the mountain this morning, I marveled how quickly the sky transformed from brilliant orange, to warm rich gold, to white as snow. In the couple of moments it took to read Luke 14:16-24 my whole visible universe went from darkness to soothing light. It reminded me of a favorite word often appearing in the Word, "Suddenly". The world was dark and then SUDDENLY, in the reading of just 8 little verses, it was light.
For 32 years SS has received the financially poor, the disabled by sin, the spiritually blind and the socially lame from verse 21. We did what the Lord asked of us when He pulled us out of our mirey pit of sin. Check, but what now? Double down, don't wait for them to come to us, with urgency, "Go quickly into the great streets and the small streets of the city and bring in here the poor and the disabled and the blind and the lame." The SUDDENLY of the hour of the great supper is approaching, the signs are all around us, the mission is crucial, we must be about the Father's business, He has great supper prepared. The thing about SUDDENLY is there is no warning, it just shows up to those who least expect it. But for those who know Him, we live in expectation of the fulfillment of every promise and enjoyment of serving our Lord in the assignment we have been given! Exciting times we living though.
"Come for all is now ready!"
