Friday June 12 mid-day update on George.
Friends, this is hard news. Val sent me this text just now.
"We are being told that he is probably brain dead. They are going to do a nuclear exam with contrast in the next few hours. If they don't see any activity they want to discuss palliative care and taking him off life support."
As your pastor, I urge us all to be in prayer over this situation and to avoid adding any speculation to this text when discussing this together. Please note the word "probably" in Val's text.
As much as possible, pray but also resist the attempt to overwhelm Val with phone calls. She knows with certainty that you love George and her.
If the decision is made to remove George from life support, and if he subsequently succumbs, we know with certainty that when he arrives, Jesus will say to George, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
