Great to start the day at our Synod’s biennial Creative Collaborative Congregations (C3)event! We are learning together from a couple ISU professors about how we can witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a time of economic and population transition. It’s not the booming late 19th century or post war years. So we ask the good Lutheran question “what does this mean?”

School is out for summer! We celebrated with a “block” party on the 7th & 8th block of College St. - grilling out, playing volleyball, hide & seek tag, and devoting on old and New Testament scripture to give our future goals guidance. No matter what our youth grow up to be, or what path they choose, may they choose to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God” as they go about it- and may they be one!

These weekly gatherings (supported by 13 area churches) provide a warm environment, no registration is required, and everyone is welcome to share in the meal. Thank you to all from SJLC who supported this meal -- whether with your time & hospitality or by donating cookies/bars!
