Good morning Cayote Methodist Church and Friends. It is 16th June in the post Pentecost Season Season. It is also Father's Day; Happy Father's Day to all Dads.

The Scripture today is Mark 4: 30-34 and the title for our Sermon Short is "Smallest Seed & Greatest Shrub".

As we give our lives to Christ through the Empowerment of the Holy Spirit; our faith begins like a tiny seed which grows over time. growing from a tiny seed into a large shrub.

The largest of shrubs sees faith begining small; but growing into a large shrub that can be shared with others. Embrace the power of the Holy Spirit and let that growing faith be shared.

Have a wonderful Sunday and a joyful week.

Blessings, Prayers and Love,

Pastor Joy, Bliss & Buddy πŸΎπŸ’—πŸΎ

Good morning, Cayote Methodist Church and Friends. It is Sunday 2nd June 2024 in the Post Pentecost Season. The Scripture today is 2 Corinthians 4:5-12 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "Afflicted but Not Crushed".

We hear that Christ followers will be afflicted yet they will not be crushed. It is however Christ who suffers . . .

We carry the suffering of Christ in our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit so that the power of Christ's death and resurrection may be seen in and through us.

Have a wonderful Sunday and a great Spirit filled week.

Blessings, Prayers and Love,

Pastor Joy, Bliss & Buddy πŸΎπŸ’—πŸΎ

Good morning, Cayote Methodist Church and Friends. It is Sunday 26th May 2024. Trinity Sunday and Memorial Sunday. The Scripture today is John 3:16 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "He Gave His Only Son".

What a huge sacrifice; we take this opportunity to remember Christ who suffered, died and was resurrected that we might be saved. Also, we remember our military, friends and family who died that we might be saved; we give thanks for their lives. The Scripture today is John 3:16 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "He Gave His Only Son".

Jesus suffered and died that those who confessed Jesus as Savior and confessed their sins might have eternal life. His death and resurrection were that blessed assurance.

In a similar way; friends and family act to protect us. Our military and first responders died to keep us free. Thus, we remember those who gave their lives that we might be free.

Remember our military; they died for our country and our freedom.

Blessings, Prayers & Love,

Pastor Joy, Bliss & Buddy πŸΎπŸ’—πŸΎ

Good morning, Cayote Methodist Church and Friends. It is Sunday 19th May 2024; Pentecost Sunday. The Scripture today is Romans 8:22-27 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "We do not Know How to Pray".

Romans 8 sees Christ's followers being urged in their struggle to stay close to him; that we should communicate with God and be empowered by the Holy Spirit through the love of Christ.

We do not know how to pray. We do our best in communicating with God . . . as we struggle in our learning . . . talking to God becomes improved and it is through the power of the Holy Spirit all communication with God is increased and improved.

The aim is to spend as much time in prayer with God . . . making our lives a total offering of prayer and praise.

Have a wonderful Sunday; enjoy the warmer and drier weather.

Blessings, Prayers and Love,

Pastor Joy, Bliss & Buddy πŸΎπŸ’—πŸΎ

Today is Sunday 12th May 2024; the last Sunday in the Easter Season. Happy Mothers Day all moms out there!

The Scripture today is Psalm 1:1-2 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "Delight in the Lord".

We see the imperative from God to his people in Psalm 1 to stay away from evil. If they comply with this commandment from God to delight in the laws of the Lord. In doing so they will be held close to God and will prosper!

We too, are asked to stay on the narrow path set forth by God through his Son Jesus Christ our Savior. We will be empowered by the Holy Spirit. We are not to move off the narrow path and associate with evil doers. Satan is always looking for those he can devour.

Our lives are thus held close to the Lord if we walk in the path of righteousness!

Have a wonderful Sunday and Mothers Day. Thank you Lord for the graduating students at the Breakfast on Saturday. Stay safe in the stormy weather today.

Blessings, Prayers & Love,

Pastor Joy, Bliss & Buddy πŸΎπŸ’—πŸΎ

Good morning Cayote Methodist Church and Friends. It is Sunday 5th May 2024 in the Easter Season. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

The Scripture today is Acts 10:44-48 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "The Baptism of the Holy Spirit".

Peter is preaching to a mixed group, Jews and Gentiles. He notes that even the Gentiles are empowered by the Holy Spirit. If they are moved by the power of the Holy Spirit then Baptism into the life of Christ ought not to be withheld from them.

In the life of our communites of faith gentiles are everywhere and ought to be included in the family of faith; baptism is to be offered to all who believe and trust in Christ as Savior and Lord. Reflect if you will upon times when the Holy Spirit has touched your lives . . . how did it empower you to go forth and share your faith?

Have a wonderful Sunday and a great week ahead. stay safe in this stormy weather please.

Blessings, Prayers & Love,

Pastor Joy, Bliss and Buddy πŸΎπŸ’—πŸΎ

Good morning Cayote Methodist Church & Friends. It is Sunday 28th April 2024 in the Easter Season. The Scripture today is John 15:1-8 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "True Vine".

Jesus tells his disciples that he is the true vine; that his heavenly Father is the vine planter. The disciples are the branches of the vine . . . they are expected to be fruitful. If they follow Christ and have fruit the branches are trimmed to allow them to be even more fruitful. If they do not bear fruit then they are discarded branches and are thrown into the fire.

Are you a fruitful follower? You need to be fruitful . . . your fruits of following Christ ought to be visible. These are questions you ought to be asking. Prayerfully ask God about this . . . make essential changes if required to be more fruitful.

Have a wonderful Sunday. Be careful with the inclimant weather.

Blessings, Prayers and Love,

Good morning First Methodist Church Valley Mills and Friends. It is Sunday 14th April 2024 in the Easter Season. The Scripture today Luke 24:36b-40 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church today is "Why do you Doubt?".

We see all through the Gospels that the disciples really do not understand who Jesus is. This Scripture shows Jesus appearing to them after the resurrection. They think he is a ghost and they are afraid. Jesus asks them why they doubt when they can see the scars of his wounds.

Do we doubt? Do we trust Jesus to be who he says he is? He came to save us as the Messiah. He is the Son of God made manifest in our world and by his wounds and death . . . we are healed.

Have a wonderful Sunday and a blessed week. Thank you for all your prayers whilst I was in hospital. I am slowly recovering and look forward to visiting with you all soon.

Blessings, Prayers & Love,

Good morning, Cayote Methodist Church and Friends. It is Sunday 17th March in the Lent Season. The Scripture today is Jeremiah 31:31-34 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "A New Covenant".

We see how God tells his people he will make a new covenant with them; he will write his laws on their hearts and they will be his people.

For us, our covenant is new; the words are written on our hearts and made flesh in Christ Jesus. As we profess our faith in Christ as our savior and confess our sins we receive salvation through Christ. What an amazing gift we are given and one we can share with others. Amen.

Have a wonderful week; thank God for the rain.

Blessings, Prayers and Love,

Good morning Cayote Methodist and Friends. It is Sunday 10th March 2024 in the Lent Season. The Scripture today is John 3:14-17 and the title for our Sermon Short on Facebook and in Church this morning is "God so Loved the World".

We see this Scripture quoted and used so often; yet have we been still enough to really comprehend the enormity of its meaning?

God so loved the world . . . Jesus is the gift for our salvation and eternal life. We are loved beyond measure. As we accept Chirst as Savior and Lord . . . we are covered in God's love.

Yes, we can and should share this message with the world for all those who do not know Christ; but today I ask you to reflect on how much you are as an individual loved by God through Christ.

It is a great gift to reflect upon during this Lenten Season.

Blessings, Prayers & Love,

Pastor Joy, Bliss & Buddy πŸΎπŸ’—πŸΎ
