This is a good news report for the Educational future of our children! Read and pass on! Instead of criticizing our Ed system let’s push for positive change! If our political establishment can’t handle it, put in leaders who will take on the change for our kids sake and their future! Let’s do this together!

A Call to action w/ our Community

Hello, My name is Sara Dragula and I am an emergency room nurse at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. I am writing to you as I wanted to share about how CMH Employees and the community is fighting back against the downsizing of CMH.

AMC and CMH administration is seeking to downsize CMH to a critical care access hospital with only 25 in-patient medical beds and 2 ICU beds in order to make it profitable again. The cost will be health care access decreased for two counties with a collective population of 110,000 people.

The consequences of CMH being downsized to critical access with only 25 medical beds and 2 ICU beds is astronomical. The CMH emergency department will be overloaded with boarding patients and ICU patients waiting to be transferred or a bed upstairs. Patients will run the risk of their hospital stay being in the constant chaos of the ER and unsafe staff to patient ratios. Surround hospitals and their emergency departments will be forced to take on our patients, even though many of them are near full capacity or have ER wait times of 6 plus hours. The already stretched thin EMS services will be taxed with more transfers or forced to bring patients farther to other hospitals as CMH will be limited. And our patients will be forced to pay the financial and health outcomes cost of delays, denials, and distance.

On Tuesday, July 14th from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm, the Save CMH Coalition is hosting a community rally on the sidewalk outside of CMH to let hospital administration know that we don’t want to see our community lose our hospital.

I wanted to I let your church know about the rally and the actions items to help save CMH from being downsized.
