The danger isn't always that we stop believing.

Sometimes we just become familiar.

The miracle becomes routine.

Grace becomes expected.

The cross becomes background noise.

And somewhere between the miracle and the memory, something gets lost.

Maybe it's time to remember the chasm He crossed for us.

Question:

Why would a God who created an entire universe care about you?

Answer:

Because He doesn't just notice us.
He pursues us with more love, more mercy, and more grace than we can possibly fathom.

Most of us have a moment in our story where we felt disappointed, hurt, or forgotten by God.

In our grief, frustration, or confusion, we decide to close the door. We convince ourselves that we're better off handling life on our own.

The beautiful thing is that when we close the door, God doesn't.

He keeps it open.

Not because He's waiting to scold us.

Not because He's waiting to remind us how badly we failed.

But because He loves us.

He waits patiently and graciously for the day we're ready to come home.

The God who created the universe loves you enough to leave everything behind and pursue you.


That's not weakness.

That's grace.

This Sunday we talked about something that should never stop amazing us: salvation.

The Milky Way is estimated to be over 100,000 light-years across. It contains billions of stars, and it's only one galaxy among billions more. Yet the God who created all of that knows your name, knows your story, and chose to pursue you.

The Gospel is absurd by human standards.

The Creator died for His creation.

The King pursued rebels.

The Holy One crossed a chasm we could never cross ourselves.

The danger isn't usually that we stop believing. The danger is that we become familiar. We let the miracle become ordinary.

Maybe the goal isn't to get past the absurdity.

Maybe the goal is to live inside it.

"When was the last time your salvation felt impossible?"
