We love the hymns of the Faith and sing them as a congregation. In our first meeting around the Lord's Supper, we even sing them acapella (without accompaniment.) The disciples in the upper room "sang a hymn" before leaving for the Garden. Was it note perfect, sung to a click track with accompanying smoke machines? No. But it was real, simple and meaningful. Contemporary music has its place but hymns do as well. Looking at John 13 today we learned Jesus gave a New Commandment that we sould love one another as He has loved us and so prove to be His disciples. God gave a song to help us learn more about Love. Thank you Jesus!

Reading a commentary on Leviticus 2 and the grain offering where the writer says we see a picture of Jesus Christ as a Man. Such beautiful thoughts. Find Christ in the Old Testament!:

Knowing the Word of God is critical for the believer. Reading through the Bible in a year is a great way to know God's Word more completely. If you have never read the entire bible in a year, let me encourage you that YOU CAN DO IT! Just read 3-4 chapters a day starting in Genesis and you will make it through in a year. Here is a nice little guide to help. It just says "by this date, you should be this far." and gives the book order so you''ll always know if you are on track. It allows to get ahead and maybe if you miss a day here or there, you can know what you need to catch up. click on this link and you can print this schedule and get started.
