This morning, we emailed out a two-part Spiritual Health and Seasonal Rhythms survey.

The Spiritual Health portion is anonymous, and it seeks to assess how we are doing as a church right now. The Seasonal Rhythms portion includes identification, and it welcomes feedback regarding upcoming events and initiatives over the next twelve months.

When you get the chance, head over to our LinkTree and fill those two forms out. It is through our collective sharing of ideas and gifts that we grow. Thanks!

Pentecost Sunday is less than three weeks away! On this day, we remember the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 and remind ourselves of the cross-cultural mission of the church. On that day, we will not be having our regular Sunday service, but instead we will be linking up with churches across Baltimore once more for a joint Pentecost Sunday service.

This year, because of increased participation from new churches, we will be meeting at Pier Six Pavilion, right in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. In addition, unlike last year, we will be offering kids-centric programming for kids ages 4 to 4th grade, thanks to teachers from . Service will begin at 11am, but we encourage you to arrive around 10:30am to account for parking and orientation.

If you are interested in coming, we ask that you go to PentecostBaltimore.com, where you will see three buttons near the top of the page.
1. General Attendance: When you click the “Let us know you’re coming” button and fill out that form, a dot will automatically appear on the map at the bottom of the website. This will give us a visual to see where our attendees are coming from.
2. Volunteer to Help: We are looking for volunteers across our many churches to sing in the choir, greet guests as ushers, facilitate parking, and assist with setup and tear down.
3. Pre-Register Your Kids: Let us know if you intend to send your kids to children’s programming.

We look forward to gathering with fellow brothers and sisters from , , , , , , , , , , , , , and more!

Recently, we started a new sermon series in our services titled “The Unfolding of the Name”, where we are exploring the various ways God has revealed himself in the Old Testament. In Week 1, we talked about God’s most common Hebrew names, Elohim and Yahweh. In Week 2, we talked about God’s declaration to Moses that his name is “I am that I am.”

In Week 3, this Sunday, we will be exploring the names El and Elyon. In the Old Testament, God is sometimes referred to as El, sometimes referred to as Elyon, and sometimes referred to as El Elyon. But interestingly, the Canaanites also worshiped a god that they referred to as El or El Elyon. How do we make sense of that, and why does that matter? Join us as we wrestle with who God is this Sunday.

Last Sunday, Pastor Richard facilitated a discussion on how we can read the four Gospels together, and how we can reconcile the passages where the Gospel accounts seem to differ from one another.

This upcoming Sunday will be our last class of the Journeying with Jesus in Mark series. We will be looking at Mark 16, exploring why some translations have an extended ending while others don’t, and discussing the larger topic of how we got our modern New Testament texts.
