We share with heavy but grateful hearts the news of the passing of our dear Sister Marianna Piecyk, SSMI, who went home to the Lord on April 25, 2026.
Dear Sister Marianna - thank you. Thank you for your courage, your faithfulness, and your quiet life of service. We trust you are now home. 🙏🕯️

The Sisters Servants announce that Sister Marianna Piecyk, SSMI, was called to the Lord on April 25, 2026. She was 95 years old and had been a resident of Sacred Heart Home in recent months after moving from the convent.

Born in 1930 in Gałki near Radom, Poland, Sister Marianna entered the Congregation of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate in 1948 and professed her first vows in 1955, dedicating her entire life to God and to service.

Her life was one of quiet courage. As a catechist in communist Poland, she faced government interrogations and even the threat of prison — yet she never yielded. She served among the Polish community in Hereford, England, and in 1979 came to the United States, where she ministered at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Catonsville, at a preschool in Baltimore, and for many years at Sacred Heart Home, where she lovingly cared for the elderly and tended to the laundry with the same faithful dedication she brought to everything she did.

Her final weeks were spent in peace, surrounded by attentive and loving care from the dedicated staff. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, surrounded by her sisters, she passed to the Lord. We trust she entered eternal life the way she had lived her religious life — in the company of her sisters, in peace, and in the embrace of our loving God and our Blessed Mother.

There will be a viewing on Sunday, May 3 from 3:30-5:30pm at Gasch’s Funeral Home, 4739 Baltimore Ave;, Hyattsville. A funeral Mass is scheduled here at Sacred Heart Home on Monday, May 4 at 10am.

Sister Marianna, thank you for your hidden, faithful, and courageous life. May the Lord grant you eternal rest. 🙏

"Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her."

Divine Mercy 🤍❤️

No matter how dark things feel, Jesus can bring light into it. Today, if you receive Him in Holy Communion (after going to Confession), you can receive full forgiveness - your soul completely renewed, like at Baptism.
It’s so worth it.
Really worth it.
Give it a try.

Alleluia! Christ is risen!
After the silence of Good Friday and the waiting of Holy Saturday, Easter morning breaks with a joy the world cannot take away. The tomb is empty. Death has no power. Love wins - always.
May this Easter renew your faith and remind you that no darkness in your life is too deep for His light to reach.
Blessed Easter to all!

In a world that moves so fast, Good Friday invites us to stop and to look at Love in its most radical form. Jesus gave everything for me, for you.
➡ Not for the world in general - for you, by name.
Do not be afraid to sit with the Cross today. It is not a symbol of defeat. It is the greatest love story ever told.

🌿 Palm Sunday isn’t just a story about waving palms - it’s about choosing who we follow.

The crowd cheered for Jesus… but days later many walked away.
Today, it’s easy to “like” faith, but harder to live it when it costs something.

This week is an invitation:
Don’t just be part of the crowd.
Walk with Him - even when the path leads through sacrifice.

Real faith isn’t loud for a moment.
It’s faithful every day. ✝️

With gratitude, we share that our Sacred Heart Home Inc Nursing Home has been honored by the House of Delegates of the State of Maryland with a Resolution recognizing 100 years of ministry.
We thank God for all who have been part of this mission and continue to entrust its future to His care. 🙏

Yesterday was a very special day as the House of Delegates of the State of Maryland presented a House Resolution recognizing Sacred Heart Home! Sisters Vacha and Donna were presented the resolution on the floor of the House in Annapolis. We are thankful to Del. Anne Healey, sponsor, and the entire Prince George's County District 22 delegation!

A tired traveler sits at a well.
A woman comes to draw water, expecting nothing more than an ordinary day. But Jesus begins a conversation that reaches deeper than the well itself.

He speaks to her heart, to her wounds, to her thirst - not for water, but for meaning, truth, and love. And everything changes.

The woman who came alone leaves her jar behind and runs back to the town, telling everyone: "Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did."

When Jesus meets us, He doesn’t just quench our thirst for a moment.
He becomes the living water that fills the deepest longing of our hearts.

Maybe today He is waiting for you at the well too.

Matthew 17:1–9 — The Transfiguration 🌄

On the mountain, everything becomes clear.
Jesus shines. Glory is visible.

Then the Father speaks:
“This is my beloved Son… listen to Him.”

Not just in moments of light.
Not just when faith feels strong.

But in the valley.
In silence.
In confusion.

Mountaintop moments don’t last.
But the Voice does.

When you can’t see the glory -
remember what you saw.
And keep listening. ✨

Matthew 5:43–48 🌿Jesus says: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” 😳
Whoa. That’s tough.

It’s easy to love friends.
It’s easy to care for people who care about us.
But Jesus calls us to go further.

He wants us to love even those who hurt us. 💛
Not because they deserve it…
But because love breaks the cycle of hate.

Think about it:
• The person who teases you at school
• The classmate spreading rumors
• The sibling you keep arguing with

Jesus asks: Pray for them. Wish them well. Love them.

Why?
Because God’s love isn’t limited.
He shines on the good and the bad.
And we’re called to reflect that love. ✨

Being like God means loving without limits.
Even when it’s hard. Even when it’s uncomfortable.

Challenge:
This week, pick one person you struggle to love - and pray for them. Watch what God does in your heart. 🌿

Matthew 5:20–26 🌿Jesus says: “Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”
That sounds intense, right? 😳

Jesus isn’t just talking about rules - He’s talking about hearts. 💛
Anger and grudges block peace with God… and with people.
Faith means making peace, saying sorry, and mending relationships.
Before your next prayer, ask: “Who do I need to make peace with today?” ✨
