Connecting with People! Connecting with God!

Trinity United Methodist Church is much more than a building. Trinity UMC is a caring community of people who share their lives and faith in Jesus Christ. Located in Catlett, VA in the heart of Fauquier County, we are a historic church serving the present day with vigor and enthusiasm without compromising our rich Methodist heritage. Our worship, an eclectic blend of modern and traditional, is a r

eflection of our community. It is our goal to provide a meaningful experience that extends beyond Sundays, and because of that goal, a wonderful fellowship has been built in and beyond the walls of our Sanctuary. Here you will find people who have great care and concern for others—a people always eager to minister in the name of the Lord in every way possible. As our experience of belonging to each other grows, so will our experience of belonging to God.

We condemn this video and its posting. Portraying Black people as less than human denies imago Dei — the biblical truth that every person bears God's image. Racism amplified from power is sin, and silence is complicity. Our churches stand with our Black neighbors.

Feb 6, 2026 The General Commission on Religion and Race strongly condemns the racist video recently shared by President Donald Trump that includes imagery portraying former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes. This imagery is not accidental, nor is it harmless. Comp

If we had doubts about living into our baptism vows, our bishop and the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church share letter from the greater Council of Bishops - The United Methodist Church: "We detest the inhumane, evil actions that are perpetuated by governmental authorities."

If you've forgotten: Our baptism vows: "Do you accept the freedom and power God gives you to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves?"

We said: "I do."

Dear Trinity-Wesleyan family,
Nancy Smith claimed the promise of resurrection earlier this evening, Wednesday, January 2, 2025. Nancy was surrounded by her family this afternoon. Together, we prayed the Lord’s Prayer, and Nancy was able to join in, even as her strength waned. She squeezed her loved ones' hands firmly, as if to say goodbye, while Elvis sang gospel songs softly in the background. It was a peaceful passing, full of love and grace, as could be hoped for.
Nancy Smith Arrangements: Visitation: 5-7 pm, Thu 9 Jan 2025; Funeral: 11 am, Fri 10 Jan; Moser Funeral Home

The Ruritans gathered non-perishable food from our local schools on Wed. the 11th of Dec. Hours were spent sorting and packing the boxes. 55 families in need received food to help them through the holiday season. We also provided small gifts for the children. Through a grant from the PATH foundation, we were able to provide a $100 gift card to Walmart. Sat. the 14th was distribution day. This took an army of dedicated people from our club and the community to gather, organize and distribute all the goodies

For 35 years, Episcopal priest Thomas Mousin and retired United Methodist pastor Merry Watters have created this Advent Calendar to inspire reflection and preparation for Christmas. Each day features a scripture reading, a suggested devotion, and an illustration, encouraging acts of kindness, peace, and contemplation during the holiday season. Mousin writes, "As always, you are welcome to copy and distribute the calendar for your family, friends, or faith communities."
