We condemn this video and its posting. Portraying Black people as less than human denies imago Dei — the biblical truth that every person bears God's image. Racism amplified from power is sin, and silence is complicity. Our churches stand with our Black neighbors.

If we had doubts about living into our baptism vows, our bishop and the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church share letter from the greater Council of Bishops - The United Methodist Church: "We detest the inhumane, evil actions that are perpetuated by governmental authorities."
