"We at Welcome Baptist Church, would like to extend a very exciting welcoming to our newest Pastor, Aaron Watts. Aaron was voted in today. We are looking forward to spending much time with him, his lovely wife Shannon and their five children. Aaron will be starting the first Sunday in November on the 1st. It is with much sadness that we must post about the loss of one of our members. On October 5th, Jefferson "Jeff" Franklin Goode went home to be with our Lord. He will surely be missed. The family can have some comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain or suffering and where he's at now, he will never have to endure any of it again. Please keep his wife Bonny and the rest of their family in prayer as they deal with this loss. His funeral info is as follows:

The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Welcome Baptist Church in Catawba. Pastor Jeff Harris will officiate the service.

Burial will take place at Maiden City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 1305 Bolton Road, Catawba, NC 28609.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Our Interim Pastor is Mike Young and today we have as our guest speaker, Aaron Watts. Please take the time to let these men know how much you appreciate the work and efforts they put into doing pastoral work. It is a challenging and yet rewarding job to be able to serve our Lord and church in that capacity. As part of the appreciation, there will be no Evening Services today, so they can spend time with their families and much needed rest and relaxation. There will be a meal after the Morning Service for time of Fellowship. If you don’t have a home church or would like to visit, please come and be our honored guest. We hope and pray that everyone has an awesome day and week. ❤️🙏🙏🙏
