Patsy Quick. I got a note from you asking me how I’m doing. I’m good, but that is my opinion of myself & no one else. I’m back in town. Dru & I just got back from Lafayette after visiting her mom in the hospital/nursing home. She’s doing good. Will see u Sunday morning. We love you & yours.

Church family as I am sure most everyone knows Mr Steve has made it home. We will celebrate him being home on Saturday at his house. We will have hot dogs, chili and frito pies. We would love for everyone who can to join us. In order to properly prepare if you can make it please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer. Y’all, this picture gives me such joy, this is the smile I have missed for about 2 months. Mr Steve has made it to Autumn Leaves nursing and rehab in Winnfield and it is going well so far. He has gotten adventurous and will walk the halls sometimes with and sometimes without his walker. 😳 The other day he took his Bible and walked to the chapel in the facility. His mind is still a little foggy but we are still believing that it will clear up. The Dr told us that this might be all he regains mind-wise BUT GOD will have the final say. He has a heart cath scheduled on the 18th in Shreveport so we might get a little more insight into what we are dealing with. He currently still has a feeding tube but we are hoping that will be removed soon and that he will start having a appetite and eat more in his own.

Pray needs:

Pray that he will continue to regain strength and mobility.

Pray that he will be able to handle all his personal needs before coming home.

Pray that they remove his feeding tube and that he eats enough to sustain himself.

Pray that transporting him to Shreveport won’t cause any setbacks.

Pray that his mind will continue to clear up and that he will be able to preach to his church family again soon.

Sorry for not updating as much.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer. Physically he is getting stronger and doing well with therapy. He will be moved from the facility he is in now to Autumn Leaves in Winnfield this Thursday. This will help Mrs Dru not having to travel as far. He will now only be about 5 minutes away. We are praying that he will continue to gain mobility and strength so we can bring him home. He still really isn’t eating as well as he needs too, but will eat a little from time to time. The doctor is saying that mind wise he believes he has regained what he will regain. We are still believing that if it is Gods will he will regain all of his memory. He still has a long way to go but he has come so far.

Pray needs:

Pray that the rehabilitation will get him back on his feet where he can walk and take care of his personal needs.

Pray that he gains more of his mental capacity/ memory back.

Pray that we can get the house ready for him to come home when it is time.

Pray for Mrs Dru Palmer and all the kids. This is a big adjustment for all of us.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer. This weekend we had great visits with him. He even enjoyed eating some birthday cake for mine and Mrs Dru Palmer birthday. He is still making progress it is just slow. He still has no appetite, we are really wanting him to start eating better so they can stop giving him feedings. His mind seems to be a little clearer, but we are praying for more clarity for his mind.

Pray needs:

Pray that he continues to gain strength and mobility.

Pray for him to get his appetite back so they can stop his feedings.

Pray that his mind continues to clear up.

Pray that Mrs. Dru gets to bring Mrs Steve home soon. She misses Mr Steve so bad. 🥲

Update on Mr Steve Palmer. Today we got some good news, he will be able to stay at the facility he is currently at for now. They will move him to the actual rehab side which means they will work with him more. He still isn’t really wanting to eat on his own, a few bites here and there. We are hoping that him getting more therapy will kick start his appetite a little more.

Prayer needs:

Pray for strength and mobility.

Pray for him to get a appetite so he will start eating enough to sustain him without supplements.

Pray for his brain fog to clear up. Sometimes he knows us and sometimes he don’t.

Pray for his mental state, it can be a emotional rollercoaster especially when you don’t understand everything that is going on.

Pray for our family during this Christmas. Christmas has always been so big with Mr Steve around. He loves Christmas.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer yesterday Jamie was able to get him to go outside for a bit of fresh air. This was the first time he has been out since his heart attack. He forgets he can’t just get up and walk, and today he was in his wheelchair ready to get back and bed and Mrs Dru was trying to get the nurse and he fell. Thankfully he is fine. He could really use some visitors. Tomorrow decisions will be made about what is next in rehabilitation process. I think with a little more intense rehab that he can be back to walking on his own soon.

Prayer needs:

Pray that the best decisions are made for his rehabilitation process.

Pray that he continues to gain strength and mobility.

Pray that his brain fog would clear up, he has moments of clarity but we are still believing for completely clarity to be restored.

Pray that his eating and drinking will continue to get better so he will no longer need any supplements.

This is hard: BUT GOD is good.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer sorry I missed last night. Mr Steve is continuing to make improvements. He still has a long way to go but it is going. We will find out next week if and when he will have to move to a different rehab facility or not.

Prayer needs:

Pray that he continues to gain strength and mobility.

Pray that his mind clears up.

Pray that the best decisions are made for his rehabilitation needs.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer. Not much to report today. We need lots of prayers.

Pray that he will be motivated to do therapy when it is time.

Pray that he starts eating and drinking on his own.

Pray for his memory.

Pray that we find the best next step rehab for him, we only have till the 21st at the one he is currently at. Pray we won’t have to move him numerous times to satisfy insurance.

Pray for Mrs Dru Palmer she needs it. She has a lot of decisions to make.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer. Today he walked around the gym a couple of times with help. He also sit up in his chair for for a few hours today. Mr Dru talked to him about some different memories. His memory seems to come and go. 🥲

Pray needs: Pray for his memory to be restored.

Pray that he don’t get depressed not being able to do for himself.

Pray that his strength and mobility will continue to get better.

Pray that he will start eating and drinking on his own.

Update on Mr Steve Palmer. Today he got to get in some regular clothes not a hospital gown. After getting dressed he went to the gym and with assistants walked with a walker. We are seeing daily improvements in his mobility. We are still praying and believing for his memory to be restored.

Prayer needs:

Pray that he will continue to gain strength and mobility.

Pray that he starts eating and drinking completely on his own.

Pray that his memory would be restored.

Update in Mr. Steve Palmer. Today he enjoyed a visit from several members of his church. Mrs Dru Palmer said that he knew all of them. Mrs Dru said he enjoyed the visit. I think seeing other people does him good. Tomorrow they are supposed to try to get him to dress himself.

Prayer needs:

Pray that he can dress himself as directed.

Pray for strength and mobility.

Pray for his memory to continue to be restored.

Pray that he starts eating and drink all on his own.
