Castle Rock, CO 80109 The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is a community of faith that shares a passion for making positive changes in the world. Our faith is built around a strong belief in God as made known to us in Jesus Christ. Through worship, service, and education, we practice our faith, grow our relationship with God and each

other, and experience God's grace in our lives. We believe that the gifts of God's love and grace are free. Our table is open to all people regardless of age, faith background, or life circumstance. You don't have to be a member of the congregation. You don't even have to be a Lutheran. Whether you have doubts or have identified as a Christian for years, you are welcome at the table. Come as you are! In April 2017, Well of Hope moved into Castle Rock, where our ministry and outreach continues to grow. We are currently worshiping in New Hope Presbyterian's Castle Rock room. We are trying to raise money to help support the good work of New Beginnings Worshiping Community (NBWC) inside the Denver Women's Correctional Facility. NBWC is a lifeline for so many women on the inside and is the only LGBTQ affirming worshiping community available to the people there. Many of our members have worshipped with the women at NBWC and the work they do is incredible (www.newbeginningswc.org). Please show out, share, and support this event as you can. Tickets are 45 dollars and EVERY CENT GOES TO NBWC. It's going to be a fun afternoon full of good wine, good community, and supporting the good work of New Beginnings! This year, as I have been reflecting on Lent and what might be helpful for us all to consider together, I came across a study from the Salt Project that looks at the power of "and" - specifically the symbol, "&" known as an "ampersand".

"And" draws us forward. It opens up what's next. It tells a bigger story than what seems possible. It makes me think of Monty Python's familiar line, ' "And now... for something completely different," or improvisational theater's practice of "Yes, and", a commitment to expanding the story rather than cutting the narrative short. In a time that can often feels chaotic, divisive, violent, and desperate... it feels like we need a little, "and." We need a reminder that even when we say, “Yes, this is our reality. This is what is happening. This is the hurt and pain we feel…” we can also say, “And… this is not the end of the story."

Through out Lent, We will incorporate a contemplative art project as part of worship to help us engage this idea. As we reflect on "AND" and God's expansive story, we will also offer a lenten weekly devotional to help us tell our own stories of faith, and God's deliverance drawing on the work of Madeleine L'engle.

As we journey through this Lenten wilderness, our hope is that this kind of honest storytelling will help us remember the ways God has already met us on the road—and continues to do so. Through reflecting on our own stories, may we become more aware of where God’s presence is still accompanying us in all of life’s experiences.

Because death is not the final word.
The tomb is not the end.
There is something more.

There is an AND.

If you want to follow along on our Lenten Devotional from the Salt Project, You can follow this link: https://www.wellofhopechurch.org/services-9

Each Week's reflection will be uploaded to the website.
