Watch over thy children, O Lord, as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be. Strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in their hearts may thy peace which passeth understanding abide all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. For Loneliness
Lord Jesus Christ who knows what it's like to be all alone, help us as we struggle with loneliness. We pray for the sick and dying who cannot be with those they love; for health care workers separated from families; and for all who are unable to nurture everyday friendships in gyms, coffee shops, schools, churches, markets, offices and at parties, concerts, and sporting events. Be with us in our aloneness, inspire us to reach out to the lonely, and may we be overcome by a sense of your presence and promise that you are with us always Amen.
