Paul wrote much of the New Testament, but before that, he persecuted Christians and helped lead them to death. Yet when God transformed his life, Paul did not spend the rest of his life hiding his past. He used it as a testimony of the mercy and power of Jesus Christ.
A lot of people stay silent because they are ashamed of their story. The addiction. The affair. The depression. The years running from God. But shame is one of the enemy’s greatest weapons because it keeps people quiet. God wants to take the very thing the enemy meant for destruction and turn it into a testimony that points people to Jesus.
People are not changed by perfect Christians pretending they have never struggled. They connect with honesty. They connect with scars that have been redeemed by grace. Your testimony is not ultimately about your transformation. It is about the God who found you when you were lost.
Jesus is still rewriting stories, amen?!
