While we were unable to meet at our church this morning, the Lord provided a place for us to call “home” until we can get back up on the hill. A huge thank you to Crossroads Community Church for allowing us to meet on their property. Such love and hospitality!
Pastor David shared from Psalm 91 this morning:

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
Or of the arrow that flies by day;
Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But it shall not approach you.
You will only look on with your eyes
And see the recompense of the wicked.
For you have made the LORD, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.

For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.

“Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
“With a long life I will satisfy him
And let him see My salvation.”
— Psalm 91:1-16

Hughes Fire LHCC video footage! Beginning at minute 4:35 you can see how close the fire came to our building. It shows you what a heroic effort was made by the amazing firefighters! The Lord’s loving and protecting hand is so very evident!

As of January 22, 2025, the Hughes Fire is actively burning in the Castaic area of Los Angeles County, California. The wildfire ignited earlier today near La...

Good evening LHCC family! All glory be to our God for sparing the church building, protecting homes, and for the first responders skill and bravery. 😊

The road is still closed to the church due to downed power lines. We are unsure how long it will remain closed.

The elders have decided to accept an offer from Crossroads Community Church and meet on their campus this Sunday. It is an overflow room already set up for church service. It was the closest option and is probably the easiest transition. They welcome us with open arms and said we can meet there as long as we need (hopefully not long). They’re also going to encourage some of their folks to join us 😊

We will have only one service this week. We will begin service at 10:45 am, but plan to be early because it’s a big campus. We’ll have greeters to point you in the right direction. I’ll send details / maps soon.

As usual for main service, there will be nursery (staffed by Crossroads) but elementary age kids and above are encouraged to join main service.

Thank you all for your prayers and support. We received this picture late last night from our local firefighter chaplain.
Our building is standing our body is safe and united. The Christian community has poured out their love, prayers, and practical care for us. Please rejoice in our great God with us.

“I love You, O Lord, my strength.” The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, And I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death encompassed me, And the torrents of ungodliness terrified me. The cords of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭‬‬

We want to thank the 100s of people all over the world that have reached and conveyed their concern and prayers for our church building and family.
The building is in danger, but Christ’s people, the true church, has been evacuated and is safe thus far. We know that God is in control of the wind and He is so good no matter what.
