Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the first responders and everyday heroes who stepped forward.

We continue to pray for the families who carry the weight of that day and for our nation. In times of sorrow and uncertainty, may we look to the Lord—our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present hope.

How Can I Know If My Faith Is Genuine? | James 2:14–26

James distinguishes between faith that is merely claimed and faith that is truly alive.

We are not saved by our works—our salvation rests fully in Jesus Christ. Yet genuine faith doesn’t remain hidden. It begins to show itself through obedience, mercy, and the way we live each day.

What does the way we size people up reveal about our faith?

James 2:1–13 reminds us that Jesus is the Lord of glory—and the judge’s seat belongs to Him. Because we have received mercy through Christ, the Holy Spirit enables us to see others differently and treat every person with dignity.

This week, take notice of whom you may be tempted to overlook. Trust Jesus with judgment, and love the neighbor He has placed before you.

In Christ, “mercy triumphs over judgment.” 💚

☀️🙌 Alive Summer Camp was AMAZING this year!

If you missed last Sunday, some of our Alive students shared their camp testimonies with us, and WOW—what an incredible reminder of all God did! ❤️

There were so many God moments, new memories, powerful worship, friendships strengthened, and students being prayed over and encouraged in their faith.

We love that Summer Camp is something our youth can look forward to every year—a time to step away, have a ton of fun, grow closer together, and most importantly, grow closer to Jesus.

We are so thankful for what God is doing in the lives of our Alive students! 🙌❤️

💧 Such a sweet and special moment! ❤️

There’s something so beautiful about watching a child choose to follow Jesus and take the step of baptism. What a joy to celebrate this moment with them and surround them with a church family that will continue to love, encourage, and cheer them on as they grow in their faith. 🥹🙌

Why Does Hearing God’s Word Change Us So Little?

We can hear God’s Word, understand it, and even feel convicted by it. James reminds us that hearing was never meant to be the finish line.

This week, Pastor Chris reflects on Sunday’s message from James 1:19–27 and the difference between our standing in Christ and the Spirit’s ongoing work of sanctification in us. As Jesus reminds us in John 15, lasting fruit grows as we abide in Him.

So here’s a question to carry into the week: What has God already shown you that you need to obey, and are you abiding in Christ as you seek to obey it?

Stay close to Jesus. Rest in what He has done for you, and by the power of His Spirit, do what He says.
