Baptism

This Sunday in worship, we had the immense joy of welcoming a new member into the life of the church through the Sacrament of Baptism. It was a truly blessed and meaningful moment as Ethan was baptized.

In the Methodist tradition, we believe there is so much happening in Baptism beyond what we can visibly see in the moment. We affirm that God is the one who first moves toward us in grace, already at work in a child’s life long before they are ever aware of it themselves. Baptism is a sign of God’s love, presence, and covenant promises, and a reminder that we belong to God before we ever fully understand what that means.

During the service, Ethan’s parents and Godparents made promises to continue nurturing him in Christian love and helping guide him in the life of faith. But as a congregation, we also made promises. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are called to surround Ethan with love, prayer, encouragement, and support as he grows in faith and discovers more fully the grace of God at work in his life.

Baptism is always a joyful celebration, and I am continually thankful to be part of these sacred moments in the life of the church.

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. May we never forget their sacrifice and the freedoms we enjoy because of them. 🇺🇸

We pray God’s comfort and peace over all military families and loved ones remembering those they have lost.

In observance of Memorial Day, our church office will be closed on Monday. We will reopen during normal hours on Tuesday.
