UPDATE!!!!!! (Warning: Long post!!!)
Hey church family and followers, I want to start by apologizing. Through this process of replanting a church, there are many moving parts, but none of those should take precedence over ensuring the flock is well cared for. Updates have not gone out here as often as they should, and that is on me (Jesse), not on anyone else. I want to ask your forgiveness for not keeping this as up to date as it should have been these past 6 months. With that being said, I want to post an update here for everyone to know where we are at, and where we are going!
First! This new year will begin a flurry of activity. This past year, with the help of our sending church, Fellowship Belleville, we were able to demo out the basement of the church, and get it to a place where we could see everything, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water issues, etc. They had multiple teams come in and not only demo it out, but also clean all the debris out, and get us to a place where we can now see what needs to be done, and make a plan.
Second, over the next couple of months, I will be meeting with another pastor from Fellowship and we will make a plan on exactly what is left to change (though the basement is demoed, nothing upstairs has been touched, and there are items there that need fixed), as well as a scope of what needs put back in the basement, budgets for those, etc. Essentially putting it back together! Funding is scheduled to begin in a few weeks, and that will help with that flow.
Third, the reason the funding took a bit was waiting for all the right pieces to fall into place. Since our sending church, Fellowship, was in the midst of two churches becoming one, we needed to hold off a bit while all those moving parts came together. During this time, we were able to build some amazing and great relationships with the members of the sending church as well.
Fourth, if you missed the announcement earlier in the year, the new church name will be "Fellowship Caseyville" when we officially replant and reopen the doors. We are excited to be able to be a part of this new journey and cannot wait to see what God does in Caseyville through His body!
Lastly and most importantly, I want you, as followers, to know that I will be much more vigilant in providing updates here as we have them. As we begin to get dates or time frames, I will make sure that they are posted here, and will also try to post progress photos as well.
I am truly humbled to have the opportunity to be the pastor here. I am not perfect, and I am going to make mistakes, and ask that you bear with me in those moments. But I want you to know that I will do all I can to show you God's love, serve you, and shepherd you by allowing Him to guide me! God Bless and Love you all.
