Status of the cemetery as of 5/11/22:

The road leading to the cemetery is starting to wash out in spots.
The cemetery had only been mowed in one plot (Likely by family).

Update June 29th: grounds do not show recent upkeep. No additional vandalism on stones spotted.

For those doing Geneology for their loved ones buried in Turley Cemetery, Find-A-Grave has most of the graves documented.

TVA used this cemetery to relocate several graves during the 1934 Norris Dam Grave Relocation Project. Turley was a prosperous mining town during the late 1800's to mid 1900's, but no longer exists....

This cemetery has hosted the buried dead for over 130 years. It has recently buried in the last five years. As of the last decade, Turley and the "Red Ash" community has been the subject of vivid imaginations, exploitation as a haunted area, and as a consequence: vandalization. We ask for your help in saving this beautiful place from the greatest of monsters: Ourselves.

The Caretaker Project has adopted Turley Cemetery as a place in need of rescue. But we can't do it without your help. Please spread the word of the destruction that has been inflicted on this place.

Last December this was the state of the Richardson Graves. We would like to thank the Tombstone Medic for his help in cleaning the monuments of the shameful vandalism they received. He worked diligently over many hours.
