I was researching scriptures for Friday's devotion, and I reviewed what was being said on the Thursday devotional. Pastor Patricia was making comments on Sister Aida Sudario's devotional message. She was explaining what it meant to be a witness for Christ. I was referencing the word ambassador of Christ Jesus focused on that Pastor Patricia was commenting on.
To be an ambassador for Christ Jesus is an important position, and you do not take it lightly. When the president of the United States chooses someone to be an ambassador for a country or state, they are representing not themselves but the US. When you believe in the Lord Jesus, you become an ambassador of Christ Jesus, and you represent "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost, the Trinity. If you are called or chosen, you are not your own. We have all been bought with a price by your savior on the, Christ.
You are just like the Apostles to spread the word of God, not what you feel but what the Father has taught you. My mother would always remind her children on the way to church or to the store "that you better not embarrass me." We need to remember that when we are going out, living the word of God every day, either at work, in our home, in the store, or anywhere we are an ambassador for our Father, which art in heaven.
"An Ambassador for Christ is defined as a living representation of Christ. Thus, we act and behave like He did while He was here on Earth. We live the life Jesus did, and that does not mean we will have large homes, lots of cars, fancy clothes, rings, and diamonds." (Online definition) I love this definition that I found online defining "Ambassador for Christ," meaning we are a walking, talking, living representation of Christ Jesus. When people see you, they should see Jesus in you. No, we all do not look alike, but the light within us should shine, letting the world know we are ambassadors for Christ Jesus.
I went to the store with my daughter one day, rushing as usual because I was at home cleaning up. There was a Starbucks in the store, so I stopped to get coffee for my daughter and me. No, I was not dressed in my church clothes. I looked like a hot mess and smelled like cleaning products, with sweat pants on and a scarf on my head, an old t-shirt, not my proudness day. While standing in line, a huge biker man walked up behind me. I turned around and smiled and said hello, not even thinking how I looked at the time. He smiled at me and said, "praise the Lord; you are a Christian." I turned back around and said yes, and before I knew it, while both of us were waiting for coffee, we started talking about the goodness of Jesus. We stood in line discussing what all God had done for us. Hallelujah! Neither one of us was dressed in church clothes, but it was something his light, my light (Holy Spirit). As we talked, you can see how the others in line were waiting and listening to our conversation.
That is the way as ambassadors for Christ Jesus should represent our Lord and savior. Not just Christians, have you ever walked through the store, and someone just walked up to you and decided to share their testimony with you. That light allows strangers to know it is okay; this person is an ambassador of Christ Jesus, and they will listen.
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. (Matthew 5:14)"
Is your light shining? If you are out there cursing and swearing, you dim your light. How are you living? How are you walking? Can someone see by how you're acting that you are an ambassador for Christ Jesus? Let your light shine before at all times if you are an ambassador for Christ Jesus our Lord and savior. Make your Father in heaven proud that you are his child, His ambassador.
Praying together: Matthew 6:9-13" 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
