Men's Ministry ~ A Study of Heroes of the Faith

Are you curious about some of the less famous men and women in the Bible? Would you like to learn more about their lives, how they responded to God’s call, and how we can apply these lessons to our lives today?

The Men’s group will study and discuss some of these using the Heroes of the Faith Series of studies published by Concordia Publishing House.

We will study one person each week. We will learn about the cultural setting and life story of each person, examine the joys and challenges they faced and see how God forgave and empowered them. We will discuss how these lessons can apply to our lives as Christian men today.

This year, we will learn about “quiet” heroes of the faith such as Hannah, Zacchaeus, Dorcas and John Mark.

A warm welcome to all worshiping with Resurrection Lutheran Church today. We celebrate our Savior’s love in the faithful gathering of God’s people in His house.

In answer to the disciples’ outrageous question, “who is the greatest in God’s Kingdom” Jesus gives the outrageous answer that you won’t even get into God’s Kingdom “unless you turn and become like children.” Why the dramatic turn? Children let themselves be led and don’t worry to lead themselves. A child doesn’t care about status and style, but only food and fun. May we take on a child’s perspective, fully depending on our Father God to live in fun and fellowship with Him.

This class takes a close look at what we believe as Christians. It is a great opportunity for everyone, whether you’re coming from another denomination, new to the Christian faith altogether, or simply want to review the basics of the Christian faith according to the Lutheran tradition.

Christian Parenting - Questions They Ask

Our kids ask us a lot of questions. Are we prepared to answer them? When was the last time we actually answered these questions for ourselves?

As Christian parents, we want to be ready to answer the faith- filled questions our kids give us, answering them in a way that is faithful to God’s Word.

Who is God? What is the Trinity? When is Jesus coming back? Where is heaven? How do we pray? Why did He allow sin?

Join us and bring your own questions as we grow in God’s calling to be Christian parents.

Wednesday Night Dinners are back!

Join us for dinner on Wednesdays, 5:15-6:00 pm, in the Family Life Center Gym, beginning September 9, the start of our Supper & Scripture.

Dinners are prepared for all ages with a buffet style setup including dessert. There can be a vegetarian option upon request. Excellent opportunity to bond with family and friends, new and old, over a sit-down meal!

On the menu for our first night back is Danny's BBQ pulled pork, potato salad, hush puppies, cucumber salad, fruit and banana pudding. Yum!

All are welcome!
Suggested donation of $7 per person or $25 per family.
Cash, check, or card payable at door.

We are starting the new season with a clean slate for reservations! No "standing" reservations will be carried forward. If you plan to attend multiple dinners, make note with your reservation.

Thank you to all who generously supported the Cross-Cultural Mission Engagement Team's Cambodian Coffee & Juice Bar on Sunday!

They provided refreshing drinks, including a yummy Cambodian iced coffee, and snacks to all who stopped by their booth.

Thanks for supporting the 2027 Cambodia Mission Team as they prepare to serve alongside our LCMS missionaries in Cambodia this February.

Your donations will help make this mission trip possible, and your prayers for the team and the people they will serve are deeply appreciated.

Thank you for partnering with us as we join Christ in His mission to share the Gospel!

The Tuesday Morning Bible Study begins again next Tuesday, September 8 from 10:30-11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall.

God gives His Word to instruct, guide, and bless our lives. The Scripture lessons in worship offer a menu every week to build up the people of God in faith and hope.

We will study the lessons for the following Sunday, and as we do, we expect that this Word will enrich and edify our community prayer, faith, and servant life in Christ.

This study runs weekly, September 8, 2026-May 25, 2027 and is Pastor led.

August 30, 2026 - 8:00 am

Welcome to worship at Resurrection Lutheran Church! Today, we celebrate God’s work in our lives, receiving His Word and Sacraments that strengthens our relationship with Him and one another. By the blood of Christ, we are the household of God that He builds up by grace, through faith, and for service!

Whether in daily matters that pertain to our own personal lives... or in situations where we want to accomplish big things, things that truly matter... sooner or later everyone likes to be "the leader." Sometimes, that is fine. When it comes to our interaction with the Servant-King Jesus Christ, however, we are called to something else. To pick up our crosses and follow the leader! But where else shall we go? Jesus has the Word of eternal life! Alleluia!
