St. Michael's is excited to announce a special classical piano concert by teen pianist Aurea Michael THIS Sunday, December 18th after the 5 pm Mass.

Through this performance, Aurea is raising money for the St. Michael's SHARES fund and the Alzheimer's Association. The 45-minute performance will include a Mozart sonata, impressionist pieces such as Debussy's Clair de Lune, one of Chopin's most complex scherzos, and Christmas songs.

About Aurea: Ever since Aurea started piano at the age of three, she has loved bringing joy to others through music. Aurea learned piano through the Trinity College London program and completed all grade levels. She has competed at both national and international piano competitions. After winning an international piano competition, Aurea had the honor of performing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City at age 11. She is also a winner of the 2022 American Protégé International Piano Competition and will be performing again at Carnegie Hall in 2023. Aurea also loves accompanying her high school and church choirs.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and long-time member of our group. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time.

Jeffrey Gordon Schuller CDR USN (ret) passed on Jun 25, 2021 after a long battle with cirrhosis. He is survived by his wife Maurine, son Jason, daughter Jennifer and his 5 grandchildren Brendan, McKenna, Thomas, Anthony & Brianna, and siblings Ron, Donna and Rick.

Jeff served 20 years as a Naval Aviator until retiring in 1994, and then worked in the private sector. He was active in Catholic Church folk choirs throughout his life, loved watching the Naval Academy and Washington Redskins football games, raising Golden Retrievers and spent his final years caring for his wife Maurine.

The funeral service will be at St Michael The Archangel Catholic Church July 24 at 1pm with inurnment in the Columbarium immediately following. To view the livestream of the mass, please go to www.stmichael.org and select "LIVE MASS" at the top of the page.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jeff's name to Catholic charities or St Jude's.

Concert Under the Stars with Adoration – Join us this Friday, October 2nd starting at 7pm. Bring a blanket or chair to the front of St. Michael for a concert under the stars. We will start the evening with 30 minutes of praise and worship music. At 7:30 the Monstrance will be brought out and adoration will begin.
